I just started getting back into running on my hamster wheel (tread mill), when I came across these shoes. After reading some of the reviews I decided to give them a try. First of all, I did order a half size up, I normally wear a 6.5 but I went with the 7 and I am glad that I did; the 7's fit perfectly. They are not tight if you wear a thin running sock with them, otherwise, I found out that a thicker sock tends to be bit too tight for me and caused my toes to scrunch up in a way that caused one of my toes to dig into the other. Other than that, I find they are very comfortable for running. Since I am using them only for running, I don't know how comfortable they would be for every day use; to walk around in. I do think that for the price, they are a good starter shoe for someone who's just beginning to get into running or getting back into it. Only time will tell how long they will last, but they seem to be well made. ... show more

    • Comfortable shoes

These shoes are a vast improvement over my last pair of Asics that were never really very comfortable and didn't seem to last very long, even though they were more expensive. I went back to this model and am happy I did. One thing that puzzles me is that my feet haven't grown in the last 6 months that I am aware of but I decided to pay attention to the comments about the sizing and ordered a pair in the size I usually wear (8.5 wide) and the next size up, just in case. I had to return the 8.5s because I could not squeeze my feet into them at all. It wasn't that they were too tight, they just flat out didn't fit. The 9s are very comfortable and I am shocked at the huge difference in the 8.5s I just tried and the 8.5s I usually wear. In any case, the 9s fit and are comfortable, just be aware that the sizing is way different now and I recommend to size up for this model. ... show more

Edit: i ended up purchasing a 9.5 wide that that was finally the correct size. It's perfect in the toe box and a tiny bit loose up top but that's fixed by looping through the heel lock. I'll probably replace with longer laces though. Photos are of 9.5 sneaker. So small, I used to buy Asics all the time and my normal shoe size is an 8 wide. Well that size pinches my toes so hard I was surprised at how narrow they were. I sized a full size up to a 9wide and they are still super snug, and the toe box is still very narrow. Still pinch a bit at my pinky toe and I hit the front of the shoe box with my big toe. I don't understand what the heck is going on with their sizing. Hopefully they break in a bit but I've never had this sizing issue with sneakers before so just be aware. ... show more

These fit as expected and are some of my go-to sneakers each year! They definitely don't need to be replaced each year, but mine get worked so much that they lose that "new shoe shine" so I get a refresher. They are honestly like walking on air and are great for support. You can be on your feet all day or even sitting back and relaxing and there aren't any "Goodness, I can't WAIT to get these shoes off" thoughts or feelings! I don't do any running or working out so I don't know how they would hold up being used for that purpose, but based on the durability and longevity they've shown me over the past few years, I would imagine quite well! ... show more

These are not true to size, so the reviews that said get a half size up were right. I ordered these to replace Gel Venture 7 Trail Running Shoes, which are currently not available in most sizes. I was very happy with those shoes. I wear size 9 and they were true to size and worked perfectly otherwise for hiking. I reviewed a bunch of other styles and Gel Venture 8 seemed identical to the shoes I had. I ordered my usual size, and they don't fit. This style is almost identical to Gel Venture 7, except for a very slight difference in the shape of the toe box - and that difference makes all the difference. My big toes hit the front of the toe box. No way I am going to wear these shoes. They also are very tight all around - and my feet are very thin, thinner than most, and so if they are too tight for me, they'll be way too tight on typical feet. I have not decided whether to try exchanging these for a pair half a size larger or just return them and wait until the other style becomes available again. The shoes are comfortable but the length is slightly short so that my toes touch the end, which may wear a hole in the top where the big toe is. This is not a problem for ASICS only as my last Skechers was the same. For me, they are not good for long walks because by the end of five miles my feet, especially the toes are aching.     • Comfortable but runs a little narrow
Size: 7 Wide Color: Black/Black
I wear a size 6.5 shoe but normally wear a size 7 in asics venture sneakers to allow a little toe room, so I got the wide in this style because it does run narrower than my previous asics venture 5. Even with the wide, it’s still not as wide as the previous asics venture sneakers. I also got size 7.5 wide for comparison and the 7.5 wide was too long. So I ended up returning the 7.5 wide and kept the size 7 wide. Other than the sizing issue, the sneaker is comfortable and high quality as expected. ... show more

I saw that these ran small so I ordered my usual size 9 and then a 9.5 just in case…for me they were true to size and I kept the usual size I wear, which is 9. I usually always get the ASICS Contend, but liked this color. I’m on my feet most of the day at work and these are very comfortable.
