    • Great Except for Short Laces!
Senior citizens experience difficulty with new shoes due to their thinning skin so it's important to find a shoe that doesn't require a long break in period. I've bought shoes that caused a foot to grow numb, given me blisters, or just caused pain and pressure. Thus, I highly value a good fit right out of the box. I found Ryka court shoes worked immediately upon first wearing but the tread wore off after 3 to 6 months of use. I actually purchased Ryka shoes 9 times. Then I tried Sketcher's court shoes and the tread was too good! When I tried to move sideways, the shoes with my feet inside remained stuck to the court, causing me to fall to the ground. I continued to wear the Sketchers, using great caution, until the tread wore down enough to be safe enough for me to go after lobs. I wore these Asics today for the first time and experienced no discomfort. Obviously it is too soon to know how long the tread will last but I'm optimistic. ... show more

As soon as I put these new shoes on I was skeptical, and dismayed. They felt too tight and I really didn’t want the hassle of having to return them. Then I realized I had been wearing nothing but flip flops for several days and my feet weren’t used to any kind of confinement so I decided to give it a day or two. I made sure the laces were loosened and I wore them to dinner. The next day I put them on I realized they felt pretty good so I decided to wear them playing Pickleball. They were absolutely wonderful! I have never worn court or Pickleball shoes while playing (I’m a fairly new player) and I liked how they gripped the court and were very responsive when I moved. Previously I wore a very worn out (no tread whatsoever) pair of trainers. Wasn’t expecting the shoes to make that much of a difference in my game but it was the missing link. They don’t have a wide toe box like a running shoe, they’re meant to fit more snugly. These fit me perfectly and as soon as they wear out I’ll buy another. I know it’s unlikely that I’ll become a pickleball champion but I have a lot more confidence in myself and my game after wearing these. ... show more

They seem to be a good shoe for pickleball, but become very uncomfortable after extended wear. I have to take them off after a couple of hours.
