After doing some reading about what kind of supports meet what kind of feet, I found this pair that was affordable, looked good and fit. Turns out it's very comfortable. Took me a few days to adjust to the change in footing, but afterwards I never felt pain in the center of my foot again. Might be buying another pair in the future.

These shoes survived the Chicago marathon well under a 120 kg runner, though first I replaced the stock insoles with 3rd party insoles that gave better support.
