I wasn't sure how they would fit because the 1st pair of Asics I had always felt and looked a half size too big. A second pair I owned felt just a tad too small. This pair of gel venture 8s feel perfect! I have bad hips and need both of them replaced eventually so I'm always looking for a good comfortable shoe. I put these on and was wowed! I tied them up and walked around the house a little. It feels like the box widens as I take a step making these feel even more comfortable than they already are. They're light and just feel so good on my feet. Not too tight and not too loose. Just such a good fit. A guy a work has the same pair and loves them! He wears them everyday so they're well worn in and he says they're still comfortable and he even bought a 2nd pair to have ready to go for when the current pair wear out. Which will be very soon 😆 Anyway that was enough for me to check them out and I'm so glad I did! He had no idea what model they were so I had to research a little, but it didn't take me long. I found a great price here on Amazon so I ordered a pair and couldn't wait for them to arrive! They were definitely worth the excitement! My brooks ghost 15s are like walking on pillows but I just love they way these gel ventures fit! I use insoles in my brooks and other shoes. Not with these though! They're good as they are and much cheaper! So dang glad I came back to asics. All because of a guys worn out pair at work. Gotta love it! I highly suggest checking them out! I even ordered a 2nd pair to have on deck because they just fit so good and feel so comfortable! Nvm the great price! I didn't want to miss out on the price but also didn't want to worry about them not being made anymore since the 9s are now out. Been seeing and hearing really good things about those now! I guess they deff improve on the 8s and actually are better. I'll check them out eventually. I'm happy enough with the 8s! Great job Asics!

This is my second pair of ASICS Gel Venture 8s that I ordered, mainly for playing sports like tennis, table tennis, and pickleball. The first pair that I own, I have used for walking, running, gym use. I was very impressed with them. I purchased that first pair from a big box store, but now that I know my size, I could shop online. I had owned that first pair over a wear without much wear & tear. I absolutely love much comfort this shoe provides if you are able to find the correct size - at first I tried the normal Size 10, but these appear to be fairly narrow toe box, so I went with the X-Wide version, which fits my foot better. Overall, I would purchase this shoe again because it holds up well and provides ample traction on a wide variety of surfaces.

I've worn several of the Asics Gel Venture models over many years, including the 6, 7 and 8 versions. Every pair has been immediately comfortable and long lasting. The Venture7 version I most recently wore held up great through 18 months of everyday wear. This Venture8 version is just as comfortable. Although there are very small differences in feel between the 6, 7 and 8 models, they're all great so the biggest reason for selecting one model over another is style preference.

Great shoe. I use it for a hiking shoe primarily. If I'm needing a lightweight boot, solid grip on the rock, and a great trail shoe, this is ideal. The only negative, as one might expect, is it's basically a running shoe upper with a great hiking tread. Therefore it isn't nearly as protective on the foot whenever there's a scrape across the upper part of the foot. However, for decent, but not outstanding stability, good fit to size, and excellent hiking tread, this is perfect. I'm using it on all trail hikes, and most of my milder off-trail hikes. The only thing I'd not recommed it for is bushwhacking extreme steep or precarious terrain, where you've no trail. I'd want a sturdier (leather) boot for that.

I've received these shoes recently, and I've found them to be wonderful, they're comfortable, breathable, and overall a joy to walk in. I use them for the gym, and they've treated me quite well. I've yet to ran a more comfortable mile in a long while. These shoes have done me good so far, and I expect with good care, they'll continue to for a long time.
