Arrived today in factory box with no plastic sack around it and not crushed as usual. Maybe without the sack it gets more careful handling? Only walked around the house for a short time, but I think I am going to keep these. They appear to be identical to my 1 year+ G7's, also made in Vietnam. No visible flaws, nice deep blue to go with jeans and the light gray on the bottom part of the heel side is much preferable to white. Toe box is adequate and the G8's I returned were too narrow and rubbed. Unfortunately, I had already ordered another pair of G8's that will be returned. I still would rather have a 12 Wide in the G7 or maybe G8 to get a specific color, but they were not available. I never tried a 12 1/2 (yet) as I assume they would be too long without a wider toe box. I do have some heel slip, as usual, which I attribute to my narrow ankles. Also, one foot is about a 11 1/4 and the other 12, which causes me to have some difficulty find a comfortable mid price shoe. But, I have tried several shoes in the $125-$175 range and some were more comfortable but generally with more heel slip an a toe box problem. I realize that the G7 and G8 are "running" shoes, and I only need walking shoes. I am going to try New Balance in a 12 Wide next, even though I do not like the huge contrasting N of the side. Agree with Mr. Sweeney the the laces are not very good. I have to tie a second tight knot to keep them tied, and then a third loose knot to keep the too-long laces from slopping over the side of the shoe. Also, the laces a black with gray spots. They should be dark blue with gray spots.

I purchased these shoes in late February and started using them in March. I have used them to walk to and from work, while working, which involves a lot of walking and standing, and to go on a couple jogs. In five months time, after logging, roughly 1000+ miles, the treads have worn down, yet the shoes have held firm. I did add some insoles a while back, I just trimmed them to size and put them on top of the factory insoles which are apparently affixed in such a way as to not be removed. At least easily. These shoes have served me very well and have been comfortable. Mostly they have be used on road and sidewalk surfaces and hard cement flooring at work. After 5 months and logging roughly 1000+ miles I have decided to get another pair of aSICS. Only I got a half size bigger. The only real issue I had with the old shoes is some restriction at the top arch of the foot, basically where the shoelace is tied. Yet that may have been on me for getting a size too short. I haven't had blisters or any other issues. In fact, I had a bout of Achilles Tendonitis prior to wearing these shoes. I was wearing boots at the time. Fortunately it passed and have luckily had no more problems with that while wearing these shoes. I like that these shoes are available in wide sizes. Overall these shoes are breathable and and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend for anyone who is on their feet and does a lot of walking. Just make sure you know your true shoe size, and if you're like me, you should be good to go right out of the box.

I am a semi-serious runner/walker. I do 30-40 miles a week give or take. I have work Asics shoes for many years and this model is my personal favorite for a couple reasons. First, these are "technically," trail runners. Don't get me wrong I run hundreds of road miles on them but they offer a bit more stability than a sleek road runner. Second, they are comfortable...at least more comfortable than most running shoes. The insole inside the shoe holds up well and provides a good amount of comfort for a lot of miles. Third, they are extremely affordable. Getting a pair of shoes that I can put several hundred miles on for around $60 is an incredible deal. I have worn $200+ shoes and while they were lighter and sleeker, they don't impress me any more than these as a whole. I couple things to note. These are not light shoes. They are not heavy but they are not as light as a high end road runner. Also they have an aggressive tread. Like I said earlier, they are technically a trail runner so the treads reflect that. I personally like that because it adds more ankle stability and I am able to bust out onto the grass or dirt without slipping and sliding. I will continue to order the Asics Venture 7. GREAT shoe for the money.

I bought these shoes 2 years ago and waited to write a review until now. I go on a 5-10 mile run 3 times a week. And these shoes have lasted the longest than any other running shoe I've owned. I like the support, breathability, and good rubber soles (which do not wear down quickly).

I'm very picky with my shoes. I normally spend hours in the store trying to find a good pair. I have never bought this brand nor have I ever bought a pair of shoes online. I've been wearing these new kicks for maybe 2 months now. Maybe the best ones I've ever purchased.

I've worn asics for a long time. I usely buy them at dicks, which I hate. And they seem a lot better than these. I know a lot of people claim these are fake and I'm starting to wonder myself. They sure don't seem to be as good a quality as tje ones I buy in the store

These were quite comfortable from the beginning and where very well two weeks in. I work on my feet all day and walk an average of 8-11 miles a day at work. These shoes are fricken amazing. I wear a 10.5 with a slender foot and got the 10.5- they feel like they were made directly for me.
