The midsole has been modified with AMPLIFOAM cushioning and a higher stack height. When combined with the rearfoot GEL technology, these features help create a softer and more comfortable feel underfoot. Meanwhile, the outsole features an advanced traction pattern that's functional for the road and trail surfaces. Polyester upper and lining. Ethylene vinyl acetate insole. Lace-up closure in a round toe silhouette. Pull tab in front and back for easy entry. Synthetic rubber outsole.

I ordered these running shoes.....not for running but for everyday wear and working out at Planet Fitness. These shoes are incredibly comfortable, great looking and affords great support while weight lifting. I'm very glad I ordered them when I did, because they (Amazon) quickly depleted the stock and I have not seen them available since. On Ebay they are listed as $139, as opposed to $65 when I purchased them on Amazon. Asics running shoes in general are incredible running shoes to begin with and the prices offered by Amazon, they are even better. The fit is exceptional, great toe box, well made, and the support in the heel and midfoot provides a long lift span. Best Athletic Shoes I have EVER wore. No Contest. Brother is a Podiatrist & ALWAYS said these were the best & New Balance are excellent shoe’s & Brooks are a definite new boy on the block. BUT, I have had all three multiple pairs of from each company along with Adidas and Nike Reebok when I was younger West had some nice now, but I’m gonna tell you what none are more comfortable or good for your joints your feet and I have had a number of things orthopedically I’ve had to have worked on through the years, played college football football as an Open Tackle for those of you who don’t know. 34 surgeries, lost my right leg below the knee from a complication in a surgery. I usually wear 15's; I can occasionally fit into some other manufacturer's 14's. Anyway, these fit as 15 should and they are quite rugged. I've worn them a lot and haven't noticed any tread coming off the sole. I will advise anyone that if they are a person of size like me (300 lbs+) the insoles have zero support not cushion. Throw them out, go get some Dr. Scholl's from the drug store, and you've got some 5-star shoes. ... show more

As opposed to other Gel-Venture shoes, these shoes seem to have a more aggressive outer sole. Yet they fit well, and they are comfortable. I use these for walking in the winter weather. They grip well when crossing icy slush. As a walking shoe, these work well. Should I elect to go hiking on well defined trails, these shoes should work for that. ... show more

I wear an 8.5 and it comes true to size and accepts my wider foot. They are not $100 and work well at the gym (treadmill/ lifting). No break in issues and the cushion is good. Maybe not the shoe if you run a lot.

I SOOOO want to love these. But they are going to have to be returned. I have worn Asics for decades. Love them. I currently wear Contend running shoes, for example. My size in them fits like a glove. Same size in these? Too snug in the toe box and too short. They feel 1/4 to 1/2 size smaller than my pair of Contends. Moreover, the right shoe is smaller (by 1/8 to 1/4 size) than the left shoe. I could almost live with them if they both fit like the left shoe. But they feel awkward and I am sure I am going to regret keeping them. So... back they go. Replace with another pair and hope quality control wasn't on strike that day?
