    • As good a Gel-Nimbus as ever!
I've been running with the Asics Gel-Nimbus shoe as my go-to since the 12, which I still have. It's hard to believe this is the same shoe over a decade later, but it makes sense: back in 2010 the barefoot/minimalist craze was in full effect; now the maximalist craze is here. The Gel-Nimbus has always been a maximalist shoe, and the 25 is a maximalist shoe in a maximalist era -- cushioning galore and a rocker-esque sole, with the model's famous stability still intact. Perhaps this Nimbus is not as nimble as some of its predecessors -- but neither am I! As a city runner, I have to believe this Cadillac of shoes helps protect my body from injury doing this high-impact activity I'm addicted to. I'm shocked how great a shoe this is.     • Okay running shoe with big flaws
Any running shoe is a good walking shoe. The gel nimbus 25 is a decent running shoe at best, not great for the price either. It has good cushion but lackluster feedback and lift off. If you aren't wearing tabbed socks you will get cuts at the heel. After about 400 miles this shoe in particular started to blister my pinky toes. Laces don't reach far enough in the toe box for good tightening to prevent movement. These are giving more issues than just lack of cushion from use so do be warned. ... show more

These shoes are perfect for what I need. Very comfortable and enough cushion that prevent shin splits. I typically run 4-5 miles, once or twice a week. I don’t feel sore or pain after my runs anymore. Perfect for running on concrete, wouldn’t recommend for dirt trails. Also, had to get a half size bigger than my normal shoe size. ... show more
