It’s hard to find running shoes that fit and perform well. Over many years I’ve changed from Nike to Adidas and then ASICS. Some of the other companies discontinue models and/or change them so much that they didn’t fit me correctly. I’ve been using ASICS Gel-Kayano since they came out in 1993 and with the exception of the Gel-Kayano 25 or 26 have always fit perfectly, wear well and give the right amount of cushion and foot control and stability you need to support running or walking. They’ve been comfortable except for the one year that they were too tight (that year I found some older models to get me through till new ones came out). My feet don’t have much arch and these shoes work for me. They’re lightweight and breathable which helps during longer runs or walks. My color preference was the black and silver I ordered although in prior years I often went with wilder colors. ... show more

I ordered these shoes because my feet have flat arches. I started running frequently again recently and was using a newer pair of Sketchers Max Run Slip Ins, which worked better than a standard shoe, but proved to be a terrible choice after multiple runs. My ankles would over probate and roll in badly while running, causing me to have very sore ankles and stabilizers in my lower legs, as well as hip pain. I was beginning to get worried I was going to injure myself, so I did research and found these. These shoes made a drastic difference in my ankles and hips. It has helped my running gait, keeping my ankles from rolling in so badly and helps guide my feet for a smothering strike and rebound. With the Sketchers it felt like my feet, particularly my right foot, was slamming into the ground or treadmill unless I specifically tried to strike my forefoot. These shoes feel so much more smooth and provide plenty of support on my inner foot to keepeverything in alignment. I haven't had the shoes long enough to comment on the lifespan and longevity of them, but so far after several runs and miles they shoe no signs of bad wear or issues.     • Lightweight, but gives me heel pains

I officiates tennis tournaments. I'm on my feet 8-10 hours, sometime walking and sometime standing. PROs: 1. Lightweight: I love how light they are. My feet doesn't feel heavy walking around in them. 2. Breathability: I spent all day in 95 degrees heat and my feet were not sweating or toasty. 3. Easy to put on and off. 4. Lacing is quick and easy to tighten if needed. 5. Not too high. Con: 1. Standing for a long period of time hurts my heels. It's great if you're walking, but standing still wasn't good for me. The foam has good support, but the density my be a bit firm for me. 2. I feel like the outter heel area supinate, even with my orthotic. Overall, these are great shoes, but they gave me heel pain from standing for long period at times. Do they need to be broken in a bit? I'm not sure. ... show more

I get asics for run - walk almost exclusively. These will stabilize your foot and make your walk enjoyable. Comfortable, fits and the toe box is wide enough.

    • 30+ years running, 20+ gel kayanos, no regrets

You get what you pay for. These are pricy shoes, BUT they perfectly balance stability, cushion, weight, and fit. I’ve worn the gel kayanos since about version 6, lol. The older I get the more I appreciate these shoes. I run 500+ miles a year. These will start to fade around 250 miles unless (like me) about half your workouts are on a treadmill or on a dirt trail (different shoes) which will extend the ASICS’ life. I usually get a new pair once a year once I start to notice the effects of pavement running wear and tear on my legs or the treads on the shoes fade and they start to get slippy on wet surfaces. Take your time to properly size your feet to keep your heel locked in and avoid toe strikes and these shoes will take good care of you. ... show more

Worst sneaker I ever owned. Soles are nice and stiff but the side are super flimsy and do not support my foot at all. My feet are always sliding over the edge. Very weak. I have had for a couple of months are can no longer wear them. Very disappointing. Update: This sneaker is not good for uneven surfaces and offers very little support when performing physical tasks on uneven surfaces. The uppers allow your feet to slude off the sole. But I must give credit where credit is due. The soles are very resistant to bending anf offer excellent support. If you are walking on mostly even surfaces and not moving heavy objects, the sneakers are excellent. ... show more
