  • Simply the best Gel Kayano ever
Size: 13 Color: Lite-show/Sea Glass
I don't leave a lot of reviews for products, but these shoes are simply amazing. I have been a runner for over 30 years now. I have done every race from short 5ks, to full length iron Man's. I am a bigger man, 6 ft tall and about 200 lb. I have worn these shoes religiously since they came out many years ago . This version of the shoe is simply the best Asics has ever come out with. I wear a 13 and these are true to fit. The comfort and padding on these are sooo comfortable with the exact right amount of firmness. For the first time ever, after I bought the first pair of these shoes and tried them for a day, I went back and bought another pair. I have one pair for running in and another pair to wear to work. Work. I am an ER doctor and work 12-hour shifts on my feet. I almost always wear dansko clogs to work for their support, but these tennis shoes are comfortable enough to make it through a 12-hour shift with no problem. If you would never tried a pair of this brand, this is the one I recommend you begin with. If you have used other versions of the gel kayano in the past, trust me this one is an amazing update. Five stars!!!! ... show more

  • Great guiding shoe
Size: 8.5 Color: Black/Sheet Rock
If you over pronate this shoe will be life-changing. Also, a bonus is the aggressive cusion that takes most of the soreness away for a runner who is say, over 150 lbs. Perfect daily trainer, I will be running races in thse also. One negative is the breathability around the heel/your foot will be wet even on a cool day. No rubbing or chafing issues though. ... show more

  • well supported shoes

  • On the expensive side but comfortable
Size: 12 Color: Polar Shade/Black
I feel like these shoes are really not as large as they appear. Almost feel like big foot with just my typical size 12. Maybe it’s because they are brighter but either way they are comfortable just not a shoe I would like to pay $100 for. They do fit well and my foot no longer hurts when on longer walks. I did read the reviews prior which helped narrow down the search to this shoe. ... show more

  • Perfect max cushioning stability running shoe
Size: 11.5 Wide Color: Carrier Grey/Piedmont Grey
I tried out a bunch of shoes for running moderate distances of 3-5 miles. I ended up settling on the Kayano 30. The Saucony Guide 16 and Mizuno Wave Inspire 19 were both in a very close second. I tried all of the shoes in a 11.5 wide. Gel Kayano 30: Best overall for a person with a wide and flat foot, who wants support and maximum cushion for long runs. This is the perfect shoe in that respect. -350 grams -Softness: 5/5 -Support/Guide: 4/5 -Smoothness of heel to toe ride: 5/5 -Width: Wide Brooks Glycerin GTS 20: Best overall for a person with wide and flat foot, who wants a firm and nimble feeling ride and support. This is the perfect shoe in that respect. -350 grams -Softness: 1/5 -Support/Guide: 3/5 -Smoothness of heel to toe ride: 5/5 -Width: Wide Saucony Guide 16: Best overall for a person with a wider foot, who wants a medium level of cushioning and support. This is the perfect shoe in that respect. -350 grams -Softness: 3/5 -Support/Guide: 5/5 -Smoothness of heel to toe ride: 4/5 -Width: Wide Mizuno Wave Inspire 19: Very good for a person with a wide and flat foot, who wants high cushioning for long runs. Very similar fit to the Saucony Guide 16, but with less support, slightly more cushioning, and a slightly less smooth heel to toe ride. Only real downside is that the cushioning is so soft that it "bottoms out" as if the foam isn't thick enough and you hit the harder base of the shoe under the cushioning. -343 grams -Softness: 4/5 -Support/Guide: 2/5 -Smoothness of heel to toe ride: 3/5 -Width: Wide New Balance Vongo V5: Best overall for a person with a more normal/narrow width foot who wants a little stability and soft cushioning. This is a slightly more narrow and slightly more soft version of the Saucony Guide 16. Similar to the Mizuno Wave except that it's more narrow and has a little more support. -320 grams -Softness: 4/5 -Support/Guide: 3/5 -Smoothness of heel to toe ride: 5/5 -Width: Normal/Narrow Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23: Best overall for a person with a more narrow/normal width foot who wants support and a firm and nimble feeling ride for shorter and faster runs. Not a light shoe though. Feels like a more narrow and slightly more firm version of the Glycerin GTS 20. -Softness: 1/5 -Support/Guide: 3/5 -Smoothness of heel to toe ride: 5/5 -Width: Normal/Narrow Saucony Tempus: Very light shoe. Fairly firm and feels a little stiff and clunky in the ride from heel to toe. No real advantage unless you just want a really light shoe. Questionable durability. 310 grams -Softness: 2/5 -Support/Guide: 3/5 -Smoothness of heel to toe ride: 2/5 -Width: Normal Saucony Omni 20: Similar to the Brooks Glycerin in that it's good for a person with a wide flat foot, who wants a more firm shoe with support. But the ride isn't as smooth and the shoe isn't nimble feeling and there's slightly less support. It is slightly softer than the Glycerin though. Very heavy for how firm it is. Would be a better walking shoe. -350 grams -Softness: 1.5/5 -Support/Guide: 2/5 -Smoothness of heel to toe ride: 5/5 -Width: Wide ... show more

  • Marshmallow goodness
Size: 13 Wide Color: Waterscape/Electric Lime
Very happy in these. Great fit. Cushioning feels both bouncy and solid. Nice and comfortable with great support. Would absolutely buy again even though $100 is more than I usually spend... totally worth it for me.

  • Comfortable but heavy
Size: 9.5 Color: White/Sunrise Red
A very comfortable pair of running shoes for me comparable to HOKA Bondi. As with the Bondi it’s a little on the heavy side but the weight is all comfort. They do have a decent energy return for an everyday trainer and are overall a solid shoe. Pros: Comfort Quality Energy return Not the most expensive Fit to size Outsole seems to be pretty robust Style Cons: Heavy Low heel counter (no pull tab) Tongue on the short side. A very solid shoe. Would definitely recommend ... show more
