Added support stems from the updated sockliner, which naturally contours to the foot's shape while improving comfort. Following a more sustainable design approach, this shoe also uses fewer resources to color the sockliner. Functional for overpronators, the shoe's DUOMAX technology on the midsole's medial side helps reduce the foot's pronounced inward roll and improves support. GEL technology cushioning improves shock absorption, while the FLYTEFOAM midsole material provides a soft and supportive feel from footstrike to toe-off. The PROPULSION TRUSSTIC technology in the outsole mirrors the foot's ligaments, creating a powerful lever to propel your stride. Formulating a smoother transition throughout your stride, this shoe is also complemented with an AHARPLUS heel plug to improve durability and expand its lifespan.

The shoes are extremely light, yet well constructed and durable. They have excellent cushion, but I can feel the ground underneath my feet. I prefer this firmness to the feel of pillow softness as I exercise because it gives me a feeling of better balance.

    • Very Good Shoe - Stable and Light

This shoe is a great offering that is ~kind of~ minimalistic but with some support. I feel the support mostly near the back of my arch (adjacent to my heel) and that allows me to toe off in a free manner the way that my foot and stride feels comfortable and "normal". I do like minimalistic shoes, and most shoes are adding so much padding that for me doesn't work. This shoe has some padding, but I still have a feel for the ground. With all the padding that other shoes are getting, this makes this old throwback somewhat special. As a side note, I had some left ankle pain that I got from a different pair of shoes that has been nagging at me for quite some time. With the DS-Trainer the pain just isn't there, AND with a natural feeling way of running for me! I hope this review helps others.
