The Asics Gel Contend 7 is a very comfortable shoe. The Asics Gel Contend shoes have been around for several years in several versions. I purchased a total of four pairs (in two orders) - two pairs for walking and two pairs for general wear. They fit very well and a quite stable for many activities as this style of Asics has been my go-to shoe for teaching and coaching since the Contend 4 series was out. I like that the shoes are available in an extra wide size. Many Asics are the standard medium width. Also, this style has a higher toe box than the more technical running shoes (no toes wearing through the top of the shoes). I've been wearing Asics shoes for many years, beginning with the Onitsuka Tigers (early 1980s). The brand has great shoes for running. I no longer run, but the shoes still fit the basic shape, arch support, width, toe box height, and stability I like. If you need a budget conscious shoe built for casual wear and moderate walking and/or beginner running, the Asics Gel Contend 7 shoes will suffice. ... show more

I had been using for last few years the asics Venture, they’re around the same price, I had been happy. Just got these and have to say these Contends are way better. Light but the foot support is amazing. You can hear the material squeak. It handles rough surfaces well. I’ve had a week of runs in them, I haven’t felt this good running in a while, makes even those first sluggish steps of an even run feel light They fit snug, I was worried when first donned them, but they don’t feel snug on a run, just solid and light. I had only good things to say for the Venture (had about 5 pairs, I was a regular) but now would never go back. Something with the shape of the last in these Contends makes running easier, I will get them again ... show more

I waited until the shoes were fully broken in to review and I have to say they are very comfy and fit well. I ordered the wide size and they are indeed wide. Plenty of room in the front of the foot and toe box. I use these for general gym use. I walk on a treadmill approximately 10 miles an average week and they are good walking shoes. They seem to be well built and a great value for the price. The only gripe I have is I wish the insoles were removable. I like to use special gel insoles with some extra arch support that I've come to like over the years and on most shoes you can remove the included insoles and switch. These are glued in pretty well and I don't want to try ripping them out and ruin the shoe. The included insoles aren't bad in any way, just average- not a lot of arch and heel support. ... show more

I tried on my normal size 12 in a local department store and they were just a bit too short. Since they didn't have 12.5 I ordered from here and they fit perfect. Not sure what is going on with shoe sizing lately? I have been using these for about a month and walk 30-45 minutes almost everyday. Since the insoles are very thin, I replaced them with Dr. Scholls and now have a very comfortable and really lightweight walking shoe. ... show more

I don't usually write reviews. This time the quality of the shoes is really good. It's really a good deal to buy such high-quality shoes at this price. The seller also sent a pair of insoles, which is a very happy shopping. I wore it for two days to make an evaluation. The shoes are very comfortable and beautiful, and they don't show big feet. I wear 3536 shoes, but the 36 ones are a bit long. It may be that this kind of casual shoes itself does not need to buy a large size. The straps are so pretty! I like it very much. These shoes were about a half size small. I ordered extra wide, and they were by no means extra wide. I feel like they will stretch enough with wear to be comfortable. I ordered them because they were on sale, and my current shoes will wear out eventually. They are nice looking and seem to have adequate support. Shipping was on time and the product was packaged very nicely. I play Pickleball with these shoes and I can already tell two things. #1 I’m playing without foot pain, which I had with my old shoes. #2. My feet feel great while playing in these, which gives me an edge.

I love Asics shoes. I have 3 pair, I switch of 2 for daily use and one I keep for when I want to look sharp. This is the pair right now that I'm keeping clean and low mileage. They just look good.
