The soles on these are nice and firm, so I feel he’s getting good support, and they’re also not feeling broken down or really showing any significant Signs of wear after about a month of daily wear for school/playing/some sports. Very comfortable and good looking. Our daughter loves these and they work well. I wish the rubber sole would last just a tiny bit longer, but it is true that we wear our tennis shoes hard in our home. Usually the front of the sole begins to come loose just as my kids need the next size up. We are on our third pair of these, as we just keep sizing up. I do really like Asics, I have the same shoe for myself but my kid seems to be right between "wide" and normal in most shoes. These definitely are snug on her and it's been a toss up on whether to return them or not. They are cute and definitely seem to wear well, our kiddo does ok in them but I don't feel good about having her in longer hikes with these since they are tight. ... show more

These were purchased for school. She loves basketball any any kind of sport really. As far as comfort, she says they are wonderful. Durability I can not say until the school year resumes and my daughter gives them a run.
