  • Lots of problems right out of the box
Unfortunately I wasn't able to get this out of the box until after the return period had expired. Having already had several printers, I felt fine with doing most anything to get a printer up and going. Installation was quick and I began by checking the belts and tightening them all up as needed. The z-axis needed some tightening so I did that using the eccentric nuts. Then I got to the x-axis. It was on so tight it wouldn't even move. I tried to loosen the eccentric nut and I could get it to roll okay but clearly the wheels had been compressed for so long that they would actually catch when they were rolled. I tried to just let them sit for 48 hours to see if they would come back but they wouldn't. I then removed the entire x-axis housing so I could look at the mount bracket. The wheels did not move freely and when I put a level against the housing bracket, it was slightly bent. I ordered new wheels, eccentric nuts, and x-axis mount bracket with the wheels already on it. When I got it, one wheel was sticking so I replaced it and all the wheels moved easily. When I put it on the x-axis, it rolled well and I felt good about it. I put the extruder, etc. back on the bracket, got the belt back on, tightened everything and it felt good so I was finally ready to print. Leveled the bed and did the test print....it was a train wreck. It looked like I was too far away from the bed or it was under-extruding. I tried three different filaments and the same result along with using different temperatures. I leveled the bed two more time and no changes in the print. I check to make sure the glass bed had no warping and it did not. Also verified that the x-axis was level and the z-axis was tight and raised and lowered equally. I went to change the filament and the extruder idler arm broke. I ordered the metal one and replaced it. Thought I would try to print again and the new print was slightly better but still looks like I am either too far away from the bed or under-extruding. I have reached out to support several times and no response and I am past my return period. I am now at almost $50 in additional parts and the printer still doesn't work right and I feel like I am a long ways off. It got two stars because: - It does run super quiet - The touchscreen is fantastic - I love that I could use a standard USB device to connect to it. Right now I wish I could have just bought the CR-10 but I wanted to try a different company. Stay tuned and I continue to try to get this resolved. ... show more

  • Nice upgrade
This review is specifically for version 4 of the X1. This is my third printer. Started with a DIY kit from FLsun a few years back, moved to an Ender-3 when I was ready for better quality and less hassle. Got this one for the bed size, direct drive, and overall fit and finish. Assembled in about 20 minutes. Bed leveled and ready to go after another 10. Prints are great in PLA, PETG, and TPU. Super quiet. Only modification was to the spool holder to make swapping spools easier. ... show more

  • Happy with First 3D Printer
Purchased this Artillery Sidewinder X1 3D Printer V4 from Amazon via Yenny Shop. This is my first 3D printer so I can't compare it to others, but I am very happy with it so far. In the week I have had it, I have printed the 3D printing "Hello World" cube, several small robot pieces of my own design (mostly flat-ish and less than 3"x3") and one medium sized cat figurine, using PLA filament. I use a combination of FreeCad and Cura Slicer to create the pieces. I then transfer them from Cura to the provided USB stick and print from the touch screen. The Artillery Sidewinder took me about 30 minutes to assemble and was ready to print after leveling the bed. The order took 4 days from the time I ordered it until it arrived. The box was in good shape and came with all parts and spare parts. Instructions are minimal, but were enough to get me started. I watched a lot of youtube videos before I purchased this. They helped. ... show more

  • The absolute best, hands down
This is probably the single best thing I've ever bought in my entire life. Not only is it easy to use, it's insanely quiet and simple design. You will want to look into Wham Bam for their removable print floor and make SURE you get the 310x310mm plate for this one. I haven't stopped running it since I bought it months ago. This is the first printer I've ever even used and it has been amazing. Make sure that you pay attention to the leveling and bed heat to ensure your prints stick well but those are all settings in your slicer and a little playing will make amazing results. ... show more

  • I picked a winner for my first printer!
This is my first 3d printer. Out of the box, it printed benchy in PLA nearly flawlessly. I've had it run print jobs of over 100hrs run flawlessly. This printer is just great.

  • Bad product
Stop working after 5 big project prints. Lost of money and time

  • Be careful if you are a first time 3D printer user.
Pros, Well constructed, Good size, and print speed. Cons, Not much in the way of assembly instructions, very vague. The heat plate seems a little wonky in spots. A lot of the functions are not explained so there is a good chance you will miss out on getting the most of the machine's ability.
