Purchased this to cover a balcony. We have another one that we bought 5 years ago from Home Depot online. This one is not quite as heavy duty feeling but this one was also a little cheaper per sqft. The lining material on the back is not as thick so it feels less padded but for the price it feels like enough, just be aware that it doesn't have a super thick/soft padded feeling. Almost like a carpet without carpet padding underneath. Color is on the lighter side and the pile is not quite as dense as my home depot one. But again for the price this one is pretty good bang for your buck. Since we use them in separate areas I don't mind that the color of this one is lighter. I've had it for a few months now and it's help up, no fraying or noticeable detachment of the piling. Still looks brand new. ... show more

We purchased this to put under a fence in our yard to minimize edging. We can run the lawn mower wheels over it so we get a clean cut of the real grass. Use the proper tools to cut, it allows us to cut to fit where we need it. Nice look, just wish it was a little darker, but appreciate the variation in color. If it were a little darker you would not be able to tell it wasn't real grass. ... show more

    • The answer to mud season in the Colorado mountains!!!

The media could not be loaded. We ordered this as a temporary solution for mud season; the dreaded time of year that any mountain dweller in a snowy state can relate too, where the snow melts and you live in a mud pit for a month and a half. As a clean freak that also happens to have 4 dogs (I know, it’s an oxymoron) this time of year is my worst nightmare. Every potty trip means cleaning off 16 paws and somehow still having to mop everyday. We got this because not only do we have 4 dogs, but all of them are also clean freaks and HATE getting their paws muddy so it’s a battle to get them to go outside to potty. Well….it was a SUCCESS!!! So much so that we are thinking instead of laying gravel in their potty run, we will get more of this and lay it properly. We might have many acres for them to run on but this has been the hot spot for them since we put it down. The “grass” is long enough that it feels comfortable for them to play on (even our little guy who has sensory issues seems to enjoy it) but it’s not too long that it’s hard to clean up messes. I don’t typically write Amazon reviews but I was trying to find a good grass and was worried I was going to get something flat and cheap if I didn’t spend big money. This is NOT that. I’m sure you can find nicer turfs but I doubt at this price. They come in 1ft increments which is really nice because my yard is just 1 big piece (that came in a surprisingly small box). As you can see, my dogs love it, and so do I. It’s a great color, and the blades are the perfect length. It really does look real even up close - apart from being too perfect. Pictures are while it’s wet/damp after raining so it’s more matted than usual. I’ve only had it down for about 4 days so far and haven’t had a chance to level out the ground or put the stakes in. But so far I love it and the dogs’ nails have not yet ripped out the blades from their rough-housing (which I was worried about in such a small area going in circles). ... show more

We are very happy with this grass! We realized we didn’t need it as large as I bought it so we were able to cut it into two pieces. We have four Chihuahuas, and two of them will only go on grass, and this is no tricks them, and they go on it with ease. This looks like real grass and cuts easily with scissors. It was super easy and quick to install. I bought some "U" shaped turf spikes that I just hammered in a few sports to hold it in place. I used it for my courtyard and I really liked the realistic color and texture of the grass. It's great that it's UV proof as it will get its fair share of sun. I would definitely recommend it for a DIY job for a small area. Great product! ... show more

Sadly my measurements were ever so slightly off, so I had to return it as it made it a "not needed" item as Amazon doesn't take into consideration human error, nature, and wrong purchases. No fault of the seller. Nature has done a number on our dog pen and it shifted it out (between when I ordered it to receiving it in around a months time with rainfall, erosion, and aggressive wind) to where I realized I needed a bigger piece to work with. (oof) However, I trust this grass to withstand roughhousing from my dog who loves to dig as the lining was THICK/TOUGH (a bit heavy too but that's expected). Had enough time with it to feel and see it and found measurements of it were to a T (3ft x 10ft exact), glad I measured it inside and compared it that way so it didn't receive any damage. The grass length is perfect and it felt rather soft and just rough enough (not at all uncomfortable) to make you think twice that it may be grass, especially if you don't take into consideration the color being too vibrant/dark green for a desert like ours. Doesn't look too unnatural though, just like very healthy grass. It appears to have the right texture that if needed, it can withstand some raking or extensive cleaning. So far from that experience of seeing it in person and being able to touch it, it appears to be of excellent quality and does have drainage holes. I will update my review (it should stay on the middle ground as I never used/installed it for actual use), once we can get enough money, as it's a tad costly, to get the bigger size we need. ... show more
