The grass hairs are easy to clean and are very soft. All I have to do is rinse and done. Pets love it so and it was so cheap for the size that I bought a second one. I got this because I foster puppies from neonates until the age of 8wks. This means I must teach them the basics of potty training for their sake, my sanity, and to ensure things go well in their new home. Potty pads work, but if you have more than one puppy the potty pad becomes a play thing. This is where the turf piece came in handy. Instead of noticing the potty pad, the puppies automatically made the connection to the turf outside and started using the turf. I’m sure the smell of the potty pad helped, and in no time we were able to remove the whelping pad from the xpen. I like to keep my xpen clean, so I clean up in between potty pad changes, which happen at meals (quite often). Even though urine gets through 98% of the time. Poop is tricky. I wouldn’t mention it had we had the same issue with the turf outside. However, I had a hard time removing it. Even though it was fresh. Sorry for the TMI, however once taken outside to wash with dish soap and the hose, it did come right off. The one thing I really did not like at all was the awful smell when I pulled the turf out of the package. It took about three washes to get the smell out. I recommend getting a back up set depending on the size you are looking to cover indoors, so it has time to dry and air out. Also, it says you can wait to wash it about once a week. I wouldn’t. I have 3, 5week old puppies using them. I have to wash them every two days. So unless you have a single chihuahua, I wouldn’t wait that long. I’ve been using the product for 2 weeks, and it’s holding up well. I am washing it more often than recommended, so we will see how long it holds up. I have many more puppies to foster in my future 😉

I bought this for the 2 dogs next door so that they can go out on the balcony and hopefully no P will go through to the people down below on the first floor. It looks pretty flimsy actually. I have one on my balcony which is next-door to the dogs that I bought this one for, but it appears to be much better made. I tried to find the same one and order it, but couldn’t find it. I’ve had mine for two years. This one I’m not sure will last. I’m going next-door right now to give the dogs their present. . I’ll update in a week or two. The bottom line is by appearance I should’ve paid $25 instead of $52. Also, the balcony is like a wood deck so I put a tarp down for underneath the grass.

Use this product for my inside portable potty station. Have a large center patio with a potty station. Use large plastic tray, pea pads and the grass. Soak grass in urine enzyme remover 2x/week. Change pee pads 3x week. Great system for older dogs. Grass holds up well.

These are the smallest size, but the little dog actually uses it just fine. I put a nursing home bed cover under it so it catches the moisture when it comes through and change that out every couple days. I ended up buying another set so that I could change them and rinse the old ones out. All I do is rinse them with hot water in the shower and then hang them to dry in the shower. At first, the dog wasn’t using it so I took the towel where I cleaned up an accident and just put it on there and then she started using it. Now whenever she wants to go out and we can’t take her out side, she’ll bark once and then we put her on the ground in the nursing home room and she runs right over and does all her business
