From the Manufacturer This non-metallic unit can be used in new construction, or if you're re-wiring your current home for a flat screen TV. The low voltage mounting brackets are the time and money-saving solution for faster and easier mounting of Class 2 communications, computer and cable TV wiring. The bracket is its own template. Level the bracket on the wall. Then use the bracket as a guide for the cut out by tracing a line around the inside. Designed to mount wall plates flush, our mounting brackens offer features that deliver a better- looking, easy to install job. It adjusts to fit 1/4-inch to 1-Inch wall thicknesses. The unit can be mounted vertical and horizontal. The wing design provides secure mounting by flipping up as the screws are tightened. The Thin front lip seats better on drywall. The oval hole allows lining-up and final straightening or shifting of device. Finally the Arlington fittings are carefully inspected and our manufacturing process is designed to prevent the possibility of a defective product leaving our plant. In the event any of our products are found to be defective, we will replace them with new product free of charge. These are built so good. I took the time to back both sides of the box so that ii get perfect depth inside drywall all around unit. The 3 gangs are adjustable and I turned mine into a 1 gang for 120v and 2 for hdmi and Ethernet I had some left over central shop back and used that as a sleeve between boxes to hide cables behind wall. I was looking for a simple recessed plate for my cable hookup as I was setting up a bookcase in front of where it comes in and I did not want to cut a hope in it. I could not find anything that would work locally. I ran across this one and figured I didn't have much to lose. When it arrived I realized I would need to expand the hole in my wall by quite a bit. It ended up being very easy to install once I understood the setup for installing it in my wall. Each piece went together easily and I screwed the cable connection on. WIth the bookcase in place the wire stays perfectly behind it. I now see so many possible applications for this one. ... show more

This largely fulfilled my need. Installation was fairly straightforward, and it seems quite sturdy. Encountered a small problem in that the screw holes on the included device cover plate don't line up with the holes for mounting the plate on the bracket. I would likely have chosen a different plate anyways, in which case this wouldn't be an issue, but it would be nice for that to have been a choice, rather than to be forced into it. Bought this to tidy up the hole in the wall where all kinds of cables for TV, internet, electrical, speakers, etc. were sticking out. We wanted them all recessed behind a tall bookcase, and this did the trick. We used the leviton connector plugs and snapped them all into their little squares. Everything looks nice & tidy now! I had a devil of a time finding these! I wanted to flush mount speakers for my entertainment center, and I needed something like these. They are a godsend! They are sturdily built, and their depth is adjustable. You can place them wherever you like. You don't need to mount them to a stud, although if you're using it for anything heavy duty, I would recommend it. I'm using it for speaker wire, so mounted to dry way is sufficient for me. Overall this is a pretty good product. Its a heavy gauge plastic and feels considerable in your hand especially when you compare its weight to a regular faceplate that you buy at your local home improvement store. My complaints with the product are minimal but still force me to deduct 1 star from the product. First off why is a mounting template not included? Its a simple piece of paper with the shape that you need to cut out of your drywall. Wouldn't cost more than a few cents per unit sold but would make the installation a few minutes quicker. Secondly why is the face trim removable? (yeah maybe for painting) but to me my #1 complaint with ALL Arlington products that I have bought is that they like "holes" I have bought several of their products and they have a tendency to have too many open, uncovered or exposed holes or screws. I just think it detracts from the product. I use this particular item (2 gang) for installing 3 pc speaker sets such as those from Bose Corp. Or for wiring passive or powered subwoofers. I use the dual gang with Leviton 42080-8WP wallplates and Leviton 40837-BWR QuickPort Banana Jack Adapters. 2 pairs to go to the subwoofer (from amp) and then another 2 pairs to power the satellites. This works really well and leaves a very attractive professional installation. (as a side-note. I do not recommend using these on both sides of the installation in other words, connecting to the amp is done directly using the CL2 speaker wire coming out of the wall. I do not wire from the amp to a faceplate and then to another faceplate. I just feel that you should keep signal interruptions to a minimum.) I like a CLEAN installation. Its what I do for a living (Residential and Commercial System wiring) If you look at the trend in especially high end residential lighting in the last 10 years its been towards clean looking lines. Decora switches and outlets are now the norm. Screw-less Faceplates are gaining popularity. It just seems like companies like Leviton Lutron and others are catching on to this trend so why hasn't Arlington? ... show more

Great product! Like the 3 gang I used behind my TV, I used two of these for all my A/V hook-ups behind my home theatre system. Lots of install options for new or old work, was ale to cut my holes close to studs enabling me to use the new work hard mounts. The recessed desing makes for easy install of A/V hook-ups and provides a very clean look. th eouter surround is textured and paintable. The outer surround can also be removed when painting, and because the plates are recessed you can paint right over it and replace the surround, super easy! Would buy again in a heart beat. This box works great. Solid design. I used to recess some speaker terminals for flat mount speakers. Other than the price being kind of high, works great. It is a little bit larger than the std low voltage single gang boxes you find at a hardware store.
