Arlington 8141DBL-1 Siding Mounting Kits with Built-in Box, For 4-INCH SIDING, 1/2" Lap Double, provides for a smooth, vertical mounting of light fixtures on all siding types including T-111, HardiePlank Lap Siding, and flat surfaces. You may find the siding mounting block is very easy to install, whether you have siding up or not. For a more complete job, you may also paint the fixture to finish with your desired colors. With the Arlington Siding Mounting Block you will receive a NM connector and 4 screws, to ensure you have enough supplies to complete your projects.

My aluminum 4” siding already had a horizontal 1-gang box wired-up which would not support any exterior lights so I had to come up with a this solution Instead of cutting freshly painted siding I used this mount and could not be happier. I tried other mounts from the local hardware stores (Home Depot, Menards, etc) and they were nowhere near the quality or fit of this, they all got thrown away. I bought 2 four packs and one 2 pack but when I opened them (about 3 weeks after they arrived) I noticed I was missing one of the 4 packs. Don't know why these are so hard to find but were exactly what I needed to update my exterior light fixtures. They look amazing - clean and structurally sound without having to get carpenter to cut wood siding cause these fit right on top. Thank you!

    • Durable quality plastic product. Unit cost is a bit pricey.
Good quality product. Installation suggestion: if you have vinyl siding as mine: is 3 sections with 3 in each with 0.5 in thickness, this product will work, but you will have two 1-in gaps (1 on each side) to fill with caulk. I put insulation foam behind the holes before installation so that the caulk has something to grab on. I lined up the product with the hole of electrical wires so that I know which knock-out hole on the product to break off. Otherwise I might break off the wrong hole. ... show more

    • This product does not fit 7" siding.
Nowhere in the description does it say it fits 4" siding. This is what the description says- "Mounts light fixtures on all siding types, including T-111, HardiePlank Lap Siding, and flat surfaces" . HardiePlank siding is 7" siding. If I were to use this product it would leave huge gaps between the mount and the siding which would then require a lot of caulk to fill. The other problem is not only do they charge a return shipping fee but a re-stocking charge as well. Nowhere on the product page does it say those charges apply to returns. It simply says it's eligible for returns within 30 days.A huge rip off from a company that has poor descriptions of their products. Do not buy unless you are a 100% sure it will work on your siding type. ... show more
