This unit offers a complete Siding Mounting Kit for smooth, vertical mounting of light fixtures on all siding types. The built-in electrical box design endures a UL Listed installation every time…plus the kit is easy to install. Arlington fittings are carefully inspected and our manufacturing process is designed to prevent the possibility of a defective product leaving our plant. In the event any of our products are found to be defective, we will replace them with new product free of charge. The time limit for this warranty is one year following the date of sale or one year after the date of installation, whichever is the earlier date. This warranty does not apply when the product is used for any purpose other than the intended use as described in the Arlington literature. This warranty does not apply when the product is used for any installation which would violate the national electrical code or any code which takes precedence in a particular jurisdiction. My house is close to 25 yrs old and the builder used these tiny light mount rings on top of the siding that could barely hold the most basic one bulb porch light. Anything fixture with a base diameter larger than the size of a siding panel was a no go. I stumbled across these doing a search and they seemed like the perfection solution to providing a sturdy vertical base for more modern, heavier like like the Ring cam. Installation was very straightforward. I had no junction box behind the siding and I used the supplied screws to zip it right into the wood behind the siding. Have a tube of silicone caulk handy to seal around the base BEFORE you mount your light. Don't seal the bottom however as there is a weep hole there. And that's it. Now I can mount larger base light without worry and I have some room to stuff the excess wires as well compared to that tiny cap the builder had on there before (see photo). ... show more

The flood lights base has no place to hide the wires. I had to buy a bracket to hide the wires in it. The installation I did was on a home with vinyl siding. In my opinion, it should not matter where you install it, the base should have the space to hide the wiring. As far as the camera side. The software is very basic. Any time you want to delete the video you have to format the system. Most of the time when it records, for some reason it records 2:08 per Recording. I am pleased with the floodlight camera at this time. It has on gone offline once in a three week period . Had to reset it. ... show more

I used a couple of these kits to rectify a poor installation of outdoor wall lighting on my home. The builder had simply mounted a couple of flood lights directly on top of siding - UGH - what was he thinking? These mounting kits work like a charm and help make the associated lighting installation look tidy and professional. I'm glad I purchased a couple of these kits and I highly recommend them based on my personal experience. Make sure you understand your siding profile and dimensions before you order as the kit needs to be matched EXACTLY to get a good result. Also, PLEASE make sure you know how to safely work on your household wiring too! If you don't, or you're not qualified, hire a professional electrician - stay safe! ... show more

I like this concept, except this only works if you are installing a light on your exterior wall for the first time! I'll explain myself. The concept is fabulous but the notch in the back meant to fit onto the siding does't help if you have an existing light and thus an existing opening in your wall unless of course, you have the extreme luck that the hole in the wall lines up perfectly with the siding onto which this puppy is designed to fit on. My luck was that the hole in the wall forced me to place the light in a fixed spot where the siding gap was too low to line up with this mount. Instead I grabbed my multi tool and sliced it off the back. I filled the opening with good quality clear, paintable silicone. This however defeats the purpose of this concept of a tight fit. Anyway, keep it in mind. If you already have an opening, theres a 99% chance this won't line up with your siding. If it s new installation then great! ... show more

This mount is great for installing on existing vinyl siding. My old light did not have an box and was just simply screwed into the siding with the wires coming from the wall. This fit the siding well with only a thin gap that I used to caulking for. It is sturdy and allows the light to be square to the house using the box built in the mount to store the wires and create a sturdy mount. Highly recommend this product. ... show more
