I have been looking for cowboy boots for some time. I am a size 10 with wide feet which often makes it hard to find any good fitting footwear. I have always preferred the square toe boots to pointed ones. I ordered these but thought they’d be like all the others I have tried over the years, hard to get on, too tight, uncomfortable. I was wrong! My foot slid in like butter. Couldn’t believe it! I wore them around the house a lot to make sure they were comfortable. I wore them out several times and loved them. Then I wore them to a music festival for two whole days and they did not hurt my feet at all. They are what I have been looking for. I also bought the Ariat premium mink oil. I am in LOOOOOVE with these boots! They are nothing short of gorgeous, I got the black. I have a size 9 wide foot and my calves are 19” at the widest part. I initially got them in a 9B but they felt too loose on my foot. I exchanged for an 8.5B and they fit snug which is how I like my boots. Even with my wide calf they fit with room to spare but not to the point it looks ridiculous. Ladies with normal calves will also look great in these. I have a pair in brown from another brand and now I wish I would have gotten this pair in brown too. If you’re on the fence just do it and do the Try Before You Buy. These are nice for the most part. One of the sides kind of comes in to dig at my ankle on my right foot and as a girl with skinny legs, they are a bit wide at the calf, which is my main concern. I measured prior to buying and it should have fit fine at the calf but it's a bit bothersome and therefore hard to wear under jeans unless they're super wide legged, so just a skinny leg girl heads up :) Other than that, they are comfortable and didn't take long to break in, so far holding up quite well. Additionally, I do recommend sizing down half a size. They are also not as wide in the foot as I expected unfortunately. ... show more

Ariat boots are superior quality, genuine leather. This makes a big difference if you have problem feet. I have a very wide foot and bunion on one foot. If Ariat's wide width fits me, it will fit anyone. The key to getting perfect fit and comfort is to mix a 2:1 solution of 2 parts water and 1 part rubbing alcohol. Saturate the toe to the top of the arch. If the boots you've ordered are shiny on the outside and won't absorb, spray the top half of your foot with a thick pair of athletic socks on (saturate the sock) and put the boots on. Wear them like that for a least a couple of hours to all day. They will mold to your foot and be the most comfortable pair of shoes you own. ... show more

I ordered the 9.5 C size and found it plenty roomy! (I recommend ordering down a half-size.) The boots look and feel GREAT; they required no breaking in at all!
