I shoot traditional archery and use a 45 lb recurve bow. The curtain does a perfect job in stopping arrow that miss the target. I would not use this if shoot arrows from a higher pound compound bow. It works great for my needs at 1/3 of the price for other “name” brands

This backstop will not stop arrows from my compound bow set at 45 lbs at a distance of 35 yards, it will stop arrows from a 35lb recurve bow at 35 yards. Both bows using target/field points. I don't shoot any closer than 35 yards so not sure what it will do at closer distances. Overall pretty good for my application.

For the square footage and the coverage, this was a good buy. It covers about 25% more area than similarly priced backdrops. I do not know what this material is. I've seen some of those backdrops described as being Kevlar. Anyway it is a woven material that comes out very stiff yet flexible enough roll up and roll out. The rivets are set very well in this backdrop. This comes with a long nylon cord with metal clasps. I'm using green painted ranching/farming fencing stakes that have tabs perforated in it and sticking out (to accept heavy weight chicken wire or other livestock metal mesh. I simply push the rivet rings into the tabs of the stakes. Because this is so long and so stiff, i circle the other end of the backdrop around the other fencing stake and that whole thing stands up. I could suspend it but, the self standing works fine for me. I'm using a low weight bow and haven't missed my target yet. My other bow, is still very modest in draw weight for target shooting. I don't think that given the distance I'm shooting with these relatively light bows, that I can pierce this backdrop.

I host campouts on my property, and one of the activities is teaching the kiddos how to shoot a bow and arrow. I ordered the 5x10 backstop and I expect it will help a lot, since almost all of the kids don't hit the target at first and we spend most of our time looking for arrows. It does a great job at keeping the errant arrows in one place. I was surprised how thick and heavy it is. Note that you will need some sort of sturdy structure to hang it from. I installed two 8' 4x4" pressure-treated posts (2-1/2' in the ground) 11' apart with a 12' rod between them at the top to hold the backstop (see photo). It catches wind a lot, so whatever you use will need to be strong like mine. I tried to just let it hang from the rod, but even a gentle wind will make if flap and move. Once secured on the bottom, it held up to the wind just fine. I used 1-1/4" TV antenna mast sections for the rod, but another choice would be a single piece of 3/4" or 1" rebar cut to 12'. I did not try this with my compound hunting bow (55lbs draw), and even though it's heavy duty, I don't think it will hold up to a hunting bow. It stopped my aluminum arrows (field tips) from the kid's compound bow (25lbs draw) just fine, and only left a little dimple in the material at 10 yards. It came with ample rope, and several carabiner-style clips to save time installing and taking it down. Note that if you don't have a close structure to hang if from (like you're hanging it from trees), then you will need a lot more rope than it comes with. For my setup, I had a little rope left over. Overall, very happy with the backstop and I'm looking forward to using it to teach archery in the spring.
