I have not upgraded my bookshelves in like 5 years, and I hunted and hunted for a shelf with doors since I despise dusting. My boyfriend got this exact shelf in black and without the arch, and very quickly I decided I wanted one too. It’s compact, easy to dust the outside of, and fits well with modern furniture. The downside of the doors is that they leave a small gap in the middle, no matter how you adjust it, and even if you get it in white the front of your shelf will be black because of the tint and metal color. Off of two bookshelves, I was able to load 1.5 of the stuff I had on them into this one. Putting it together was easy enough for one person, except the doors. If you have someone to help with those, do it and save yourself the headache. Don’t get too nervous about the arch, as it will fit into place once you put it all together. The lights are pre-installed except with the arch version, and the building of the actual shelf goes very quickly. Lights are really good, with only three color options (blue, warm white, and bright white). On the black version I would say bright white and blue look the best. On the white version, any of them look good. Cons: Even though the packaging was very good, it still had very small scuffs and marks which are noticeable on the white version. There is a tape that hides the wires on the top shelf area that you cannot remove, and it does stand out if you notice that kind of thing. The gap is noticeable with the lights on, and the doors are hard to install. Does not lock. ... show more

Do not purchase. The product is poorly made and the materials are cheap. Both glass doors arrived with scratches. The sides of the top bow out as well as the side panels. One glass door and its frame had mismatched holes. I notified the seller and sent pictures. The seller responded with $45 for my inconvenience and instructed me to drill holes into the frame and glass to get them to align and take apart and redo the areas that are bowed out. Edit: Contacted the seller and they got back to me in a timely manner. After losing the replacement parts in the first attempt, they did send me replacement parts and the cabinet is now sturdy and looks just fine. Also, some of the part number labels peeled the paint off of the wooden parts, so remove those carefully. Assembly isn't too bad, but parts of it (the curved top shelf) can be annoying. Leaving a 2 star review for now because I didn't receive THREE parts (7, 8, and 9) which are for stability and for the adjustable shelves. Will update or remove this negative review if/when my problem is resolved. ... show more

The cabinet arrived quickly. I would budget about three hours over a few days to put it together just so you don’t tire yourself out. The finished product looks great and I love the variety of lighting brightnesses and schemes you can do. Sidenote: consider keeping the product labels on the backboard. When you peel them off the coating is prone to come off and looks terrible. But the cabinet that is viewable to your guests looks great. ... show more
