This is a rare instance where the product exceeds expectations. I computerize and sync Christmas lights to music and one yard decoration I use takes 850 LED pixel lights. That means at least 850 zip ties. I can actually look forward to putting the lights on now.

I got this for my daughter to use for building a catio. I got the red one thinking it would be easier to find in my tool drawer, work bench, yard, job site, etc. etc. I tested it first and it only pulls the zip ties on the serrated side. The wheel to adjust the tension has to be turned about 16 to 20 times to get to the next position. Everything was stiff at first so I sprayed a little lubricant into it and that helped a lot. Especially on the adjustment wheel. It only pulls about 1/2 " at a time so pull your tie snuggly as far as possible then use the gun to cinch it tight and cut it. Keep the gun square to the tie so you don't get any crooked cuts with sharp corners sticking out. It works just fine for the testing phase. We'll have to see how it works and for how long when my daughter actually uses it. She'll be tightening / cutting around 200 zip ties. It appears to be a decent tool for the money.

It doesn't work. It simply slides - the teeth slide - over the serrated or smooth sides of the zip-tie. I tried several zip-ties, and also used the tool I already have on them. A dud. I may go for "replacement" when I return it, I will report if it was just a one-off problem. Raising from 1 to 3 stars because a replacement was shipped *immediately* and it works "slightly better". I'll keep the second one and see if it improves (or worsens) with age.

I bought this hoping for a professional, flush finish on my cable management, but I’m very disappointed. The blade does not cut even with the buckle, leaving a sharp "tail" every time. Also, the tension adjustment seems to do absolutely nothing; it feels like the same pull regardless of the setting. Not worth it if you actually care about a clean finish. I would recommend spending a little more on a name-brand version or just stick to manual pliers.
