🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The 3D printer in question appears to cater superbly to beginners, with an emphasis on ease of use and simple setup. With features like the PEI bed, rapid heating, decent cooling, and solid build, it makes a promising choice for those looking to dive into 3D printing. However, some users faced technical issues such as hotend errors and level adjustment difficulties, prompting the need for occasional troubleshooting or part replacement.

Pros

  • 🔌 Easy setup and plug-and-play operation
  • 🎨 Good print quality and speed with accuracy
  • 👍 Comes with PEI bed and 8gb micro sd card included
  • 🔇 Quiet operation with digital stepper drivers
  • 🔄 PEI bed provides excellent adhesion without the need for tape or glue

Cons

  • 🔧 Occasional technical issues requiring parts replacement
  • ⚙️ Z-hop commands not handled well, potential for print defects
  • 💡 No manual leveling options, which can complicate troubleshooting
  • 🌡️ Hotend minimum temperature restrictions for filament loading/unloading

Should I Buy It?

If you are a beginner looking for a 3D printer that's largely ready to go out of the box and prioritizes user-friendliness, then this printer is a worthy investment. However, be prepared for potential troubleshooting and some maintenance. Given the overall positive feedback on print quality and ease of use, it could be a good buy, particularly if available at a discounted price.

  • Good unit, but no manual options for leveling.
It prints quite well, and was up and running in under 10 minutes. There are no bed leveling screws, but so long as you make sure the gantry is leveled AND squared, this isn't a problem. ABL is done via pressing the nozzle itself against the bed to detect strain across a 25 point grid. Heating is plenty fast, and the unit comes with a PEI-on-glass bed. For an extra 35 dollars, you can get the flex plate (which i suggest). Cons: does not handle z-hop commands well. This results in pills all over the side of the print, and it WILL cause an aligned z seam to swell up and ruin your print. E-steps are usually off on the extruder alone. Typically, it is 6mm short. The filament runout sensor is on a flimsy mount, and not only flexes during retracions, but will squeak with fast retraction settings. Some oil solves the squeak for a moment, but it would benefit the sensor if it had a teflon coating, this would help. You have to heat the unit to 220c minimum in order to auto feed or remove filament, and that cannot be changed. Why? No manual leveling options. If the nozzle is dragging on one side, you may likely need to force the gantry to max Z height in order to level out the Z screws. Pros: decent cooling, great temperature control, and easy setup in pronterface. Stepper drivers are digitally programmed, and you can check settings with m500 Offers PLA and ABS preheating options. Rapidly heats up to print temp and doesnt vary much at all, even with full cooling. Rock solid. Capable of printing at 120mm/s with accuracy of +/- 0.45mm in x and y using stock parts. Super quiet. Unless you're speed printing, it's silent. Notes: Advised jerk is 8-15mm/s. 10 is what mine is set for in all respects. Max moving acceleration should be 5000 or less Max acceleration on any other setting shouldnt exceed 3700, as it has no appreciable benefit above this, but the suggested acceleration is 800 to 2000 for most prints. 225c at 15mm/s is perfect for the first bridging layer. Tends to do a small deceleration across exact center in the bed. I dont know why, but it does this for anything printed within 25mm of the center. It isnt a problem, but can produce noticeable effects on the print along outer walls when going at 80mm/s or higher. Do not insert the SD card into the touch screen. This port is for bios upgrades only. Overall, totally worth the price, and a blast to operate. You wont be disappointed. ... show more

  • AnycubicKobra2Neo IS a good Starter Printer
Size: Anycubic Kobra 2 Neo
I'm no professional printer by any means, but in my opinion is a really good printer, got it for a really good deal, amazon deals are really good, i had a old 3d printer that i had, leveling it was a pain almost after 3 to 2 prints having to relevel it was a pain, had to 3d print parts for it, only for it work a bit before problems Occurred again, but this printer, its something else, auto leveling makes it so much easier to set it up for prints small to large, it cleans out its own nozzle and even tip, Small interface but easily understandable, easy adjust while printing, Print really quick with good quality on base settings, i like to slow it down by 25% for better prints which is still pretty quick, and overall a amazing printer, with the way we insert the filament and how the cords function, wont get in way of 3d prints and less hassle with PLA. ... show more

  • Poor and unreliable prints
Tried pla pla+ petg from about 7 different manufacturers. This printer is simply junk, prints always come out with different defects every time and it's not even repeatable defects. Globs of filliment, under and over extrusion warping and layer bonding issues all in the same print. I thought it was me being new to 3 d printing but I had someone take a look at the printer who has several of them and has 4 years experience and he could not believe how bad the prints were! He took it, did 10 hours worth of testing and calibration and determined I either got a dud or this printer is engineered poorly. So yea don't get the Kobra max. The feature set is great on paper but they only thing it amounts to right now is a giant paper weight. Update: I tried it again recently after being so incredibly frustrated with my purchase. I've had to replace the hotend on this printer as well as several different nozzles. And I continued trying different filaments hoping that one would work. There were times where I could get one good print but then get five or six failures due to different issues on the same exact file without any changes. I have done every possible thing including controlling ambient temperature by putting it in an enclosed case and no matter what I do after a year of learning and at least a hundred hours of fiddling with the printer itself and teaching myself how g code actually works not one thing I did to this printer would get it to print reliably. Again it would be one thing if prints came out and they had the same defects every time but every single time I try to replicate the same issue I get a different issue meaning that the printer itself or the filament is just extremely unreliable. Since I have tried so many filaments I doubt it's all of the filaments I have ever used so the only logical explanation is there something wrong with the printer. I've tried firmware updates and several other solutions. Personally I'm just done with this printer at this point I have learned my lesson and will not buy any other product from this company. I'm not even going to give this printer away to another person it is simply going in the garbage as I don't want someone else to put up with the frustration and time it takes just to get one good print it's simply wouldn't be fair for me to give it to another person that's how bad this product is. ... show more
