This bag is fantastic. It holds a lot and is light weight. The water bottle holder is secure and keeps the bottle from falling out. The first bag I received had a defect and it was quickly replaced when I contacted Travelon. I highly recommend the product.

Bought this "used" and it actually came in perfect condition, so big plus for the money savings there. The bag itself is simple, cute and just perfect for a day of travel. The security features are top notch - I never worried about the bag being on my back since you can lock the zippers. Plus the RFID pocket inside kept my passport and debit/credit cards secure from any electronic pickpockets. It's was just roomy enough for money, passports, sunscreen, sunglasses, a few cosmetics and some hand sanitizer. I also used the water bottle pocket on the side as well. I wore this as a backpack, but you could also wear it as a cross-body bag by adjusting the straps. Overall - so glad I purchased this and will be taking it on my trips, festivals or any time I want to be hands free.

I returned because it was too small for all the stuff I wanted to carry. Straps to convert to backpack were a bit awkward. I own a half dozen Travelon items and know that they are good quality items.

I bought this smaller size Crossbody bag/convertible backpack to take on a trip to Sweden for two weeks. The bag worked well for that purpose. I enjoyed the smaller size and the mesh pocket for a bottle of water. The things that I did not appreciate are that the clips to convert it from a bag to a backpack have very weak tension springs. Several times a week these would come unhooked on their own and come off of the thin webbing loop used to make it a backpack causing me to almost drop the bag. I am also not convinced that the webbing loop is slash proof (a metal loop would probably work better). I have continued to use this bag since my trip nine months ago; however, the mesh lining (slash proof?) in the main zipper compartment flap has come apart and is bunched in the bottom of the main flap. The exterior of the bag has held up well and looks like new with almost daily use which I definitely appreciate. I just wish the anti theft clips and construction were better quality since that is what many people prioritize when looking at this particular brand.

UPDATED REVIEW: This turned out to be a super duper purse. The size was perfect for a day trip in an attraction where they are very strict about the size of bag you bring inside. To my surprise, I was actually able to carry a LOT more than I expected. As a result, I used this bag for the rest of our 2 wk. trip. I loved that I could easily switch from backpack to sling- not perfectly but it worked out very well as we were often rushing. My only gripe is that the small water bottle fell out easily when not in the upright position. So, I kept it inside the bag instead. Again, surprisingly, it fit well! I would buy this again if I needed it. PREVIOUS REVIEW: This is a light bag, exactly the size I needed (11"x8"x3"). So far, it fits my 11" iPad inside, and my iPhone in the outer pocket. Enough room for my passport, cc's, etc., battery pack, small cosmetic/health pack, tiny umbrella, and small water bottle in the zip pocket. It appears to be well made (soon to be tested on an upcoming trip though). Easy to convert into backpack use: slip the one end of the shoulder strap through the flat strap on the back of the bag and attach the buckles to the bottom D-rings. Then, adjust the straps according to your preference. Just an inch more in width, and a couple of extra zip pockets, e.g., the outer backside, and maybe, one or two more inside, this would be a 5-star product.

I love, love love my two well-seasoned travelon backpack purses that have been my companions for years. These bags are amazing, fit-well, sturdy, and well designed for durability. Imagine my surprise discovering the Anti-Theft - Classic Small Convertible Backpack is a huge disappointment and ill-designed, in my humble opinion for a Travelon backpack. The inside compartment is good. This will be the second [of the same model] I return. I feel terrible. After discovering the first backpack was missing the second strap I contacted Travelon. I was instructed to return the product because the company does not carry spare parts. Whomever I exchanged information with at Travelon SHOULD have known this model came with one strap only! This potentially could be a costly mistake with many returns. By the way, there was at least one other customer looking for the second strap; she Googled the product model and found instructions on how to configure ONE STRAP. That’s what I did too. Wearing the purse is awkward and uncomfortable given the one-inch width strap jutting into my back. The modifications are very disappointing and unworkable for me. I only do backpacks. I really tried!!

I'm having a baby in a few months and wanted to get a cross-body bag that would hold all of my stuff plus any little items for my little dude. This bag is very sturdy - very well-made and worth the money. It's adjustable and can be worn as a backpack or cross-body. I prefer the cross-body, which may change, once my baby is here. I did purchase a smaller wallet - but not because this wouldn't fit my wallet, because it would. The water bottle side zips up, if you don't need it. I use the water bottle option from time to time for my slim Vera Bradley water bottle, and it fits snug. My small complaint is that I have an iPhone XR, and the front zipper/compartment barely fits it - if the bag is stuffed, the phone will NOT fit in that compartment. I do love the inside compartment, which has a padded area that you can put a small tablet (or your phone) inside. I just like my phone to be easily accessible. It LOOKS like a mom purse - as in it is not like couture-looking, so if you're conscious about that, I would look for something different. It works for what I need though!
