  • Anne with an E season 1 on Blu-ray
Review Anne with an E season 1 on Blu ray *Disclaimer: I have never seen Anne of Green Gables(1985) or read the original book before, so my opinion will base on this version of the adaptation only. Video Quality: This is a good transfer with MPEG-4 AVC encoded represent clear pictures which capture beautiful elements of the series like rural sceneries, location set both outdoors & indoors, mid victorian costumes, and the main character Anne Shirley. The bit rate of this transfer runs the highest at around 38 Mbps, average at mid-late 20Mbps, and under 20Mbps in a few scenes. *Notice: Since this series was filmed by digital cinema cameras, it is natural to notice some fuzzy picture noises in a few scenes especially in the dark and low light scenes but that doesn't bother me. When it comes to bright outside scenes, Wow! it looks vivid. Sound Quality: I am not an audiophile but with 5.1 DTS-HD audio, I think the sound was loud and clear without any problem. Story: The series tells the story of Anne Shirley an orphanage girl who was sent to live with The Cuthbert family by mistake and that is when the heartfelt, heartbreak and the funny story begins. Blending some present-day topics in the story makes the story have a contemporary feel to it and adding mental and past trauma issues and the ways she acts, cope and deal with it make Anne look realistic in my opinion. I think this journey of bright, energetic with sorrow inside little orphanage girl will impress you. 5/5 would watch season 2 ... show more
