I bought this cable just over one year ago because it is supposed to be "the world's most durable." It has seen light use. Tonight, when I tried to pull the lightning end out of my phone, the tip stayed in the phone and the cable broke away! See the attached photo. That sure doesn't seem like the world's most durable to me. I'm very disappointed. Update: I filed a warranty claim with Anker and they promptly replaced the cable. All I had to do was give them the Amazon order number, the item SN# (which is printed on the cable itself), and send a photo of the cable with the Anker logo clearly visible. The replacement cable was sent out the next day and arrived a couple of days later. This is great customer service. Because of this, I increased the rating on my review. But I still can't give the item 4 or 5 stars because it did break in the first place. Update#2: Anker has now sent me a Powerline III lightning cable for free. Now THAT is great customer service! I have only had the new cable for about a week, but the Powerline III does seem even more sturdy than the II. ... show more

    • Don’t expect to use their “warranty”

I bought this cable on July 4, 2020. It worked fine for a while but failed sometime in the first part of September 2020. So, I contacted Anker support, since it supposedly has a warranty. Anker support said they will NOT send out a replacement until after I send my defective cable back and they can inspect it. Mind you, this was after they had me send them proof of purchase and detailed images of the cable. While that may be fine on some products, I NEED this to charge my phone. So, they expect me to wait however long it take to get back to them plus however long it takes them to inspect it plus shipping time back to me. How do they think I am going to charge my phone in the meantime, magic? So, I just sucked it up and bought another brand cable to replace it. I used to be a huge promoter of Anker products but after this experience not only will I NEVER buy an Anker product again. I will make sure everyone knows how difficult/bad their warranty service and discourage anyone form making a purchase. Hopefully, Aukey’s warranty process is better should I need it. ... show more

I made sure this was MFi certified for iPhone and within a month I was getting the error message "device may not be compatible/supported" and I have to unplug and replug in order to make it charge, sometimes several times in a row. Total wasted of money.

The description says it’s the last cord you’ll ever buy. I bought into the hype but after 1 month, I could only use it if it was plugged in a certain way and now three months later, it doesn’t work at all. It looks and feels sturdy but looks were deceiving in this case. There is a guarantee on this so now I have to figure out how to deal with that. So annoying. :( ... show more

Just came across my old broken cable and thought I'd finally review it. I ordered this cable about a year ago, and within two weeks of normal use, the lightning connector came straight out! Although I agree the cord is very high quality, that sure doesn't mean much when the lightning connector isn't. I'm sure this was a manufacturing hiccup, but for a premium product, you're paying more to avoid those. Can't vouch for the quality of this one. ---- Updated: Updating my review to 4 stars. Got these cables for the family as I was tired of constantly having to buy replacement ones from other brands. The Apple cables don't work any longer than the cheap brands and they are really expensive. Buying the cheap ones is great while they last, but I do have to keep buying more. Bought these PowerLine II cables because I have had great luck with Anker products in the past and I love that they back these with a lifetime warranty. We love them. They feel really solid and I had no worries of problems when I gave my teenagers their new cables. So far so good!! Thanks Anker. Great cables. UPDATE: This is a company that stands by their products and knows the importance of having “a good name.” I was contacted TWICE by customer service (I’m beyond impressed!), who shipped me a replacement cable without further delay. Coupled with the Anker Elite Dual Port 24W USB Travel Wall Charger (awesome product btw), this cable is gold. You can get a full charge from the Anker Powerline II lighting cable in under 2 hours. My classmates and I were completely blown away by the speed with which it charged our devices. I cannot speak of the durability as of yet (I will update accordingly in the future) but I highly recommend this cable if you want a fast charge on all your devices. As per the durability, you will get at AT LEAST A FEW MONTHS out of it (I know that from prior experience) but I am hoping this replacement Anker Powerline II Lightning Cable will last much longer than my previous one. All in all, this cable is hands down superior to Apple’s original cable and those sold by many companies. I highly recommend purchasing it! To be fair, this cable has lasted me longer than a good number of the other cables that I have used in the past — and I have purchased quite a few. However, after a few months of use, it started to give up on me and on its last leg. Due to the hype, I was expecting much more from this product. These cables are as good as any of the top tier lightning cables. Meaning they last me around months of daily use including some usage while plugged in. The difference is the warranty. I have had a 6 foot cable and a 3 foot cable replaced with a no hassle warranty. I did not have to return the broken one in either case. I see another review right at the top where they had to return their broken cable first, but my experience twice has been excellent. I have a number of Anker products and this recent warranty experience made my decision to buy a eufy robot vacuum an easy one. I have no worries about anker standing behind their products.
