I like doing models, but I am a little shaky and I wouldn’t consider myself good at doing it. I had no problem assembling this guy, enough pieces to make it fun but not overwhelming and super custom with lots of options. As of Nov 2025 this issue is out of production. I’ve built this kit several times in various schemes. Good fit and nice details. I owned a 1951 Chev so I enjoy building it in miniature

Challenging kit. Lots of warped parts so you need a heat gun and some patience to complete this thing. I still didn’t get the frame perfectly straight but I didn’t want to go too far and end up with a pile of burned plastic. I also had to use some scrap spru to anchor the cab to the frame. I’m no professional as you can see so maybe some of you can get it better aligned or get lucky and your kit will be perfect. It happens. Rarely. ... show more

I like AMT model kits, but I had bad luck with this one. It came with a damaged chassis, making it impossible to hang the driver's side running board properly without surgery. See the pictures... fitment was way off due to the mold quality of this one kit. Most buyers should not have the same issues this particular kit had. It seems to be one off problem. The hood didn't fit properly either not sure how to fix that yet. I will circle back and fix these issues, but they will be challenging to overcome to a high standard. I swapped in a small block V8 from the 57 Chevy kit... it fit great with little mods needed. I used wheels from a Revell kit and they seem to work well with the custom style I was going for. After market wheels would look great on this truck for those who like to customize. ... show more

I built this kit as a gift for my wife. She wanted this specific year Chevy done up like the prolific Christmas decoration - A little red truck hauling a Christmas tree. This kit is very detailed. The instructions are great, with a nice mix of diagrams and written explanations. The plastic is substantial without a lot of molding-flash or warping. I will definitely build this kit again someday in a different style. I highly recommend it. ... show more
