Ampersand Art Supply's Museum Series Hardbord is the most stable substrate on the market for your artwork. Our premium, warp-resistant, FSC-Certified 1/8β Hardbord will ensure your artwork is supported to prevent damage from warping, bowing or movement - it is the choice substrate for all Ampersand Museum Series coated panels. A great alternative to canvas, Hardbord is perfectly suited for all acrylic gessoes, specialty grounds, traditional gesso, and oil primers and is also a perfect support to mount watercolor papers, photographs, fabrics, prints and more. Ampersand uses true high-density hardboard made from US-grown renewable and FSC Certified Aspen wood fibers and is made without formaldehyde or harmful VOCβs (volatile organic compounds) unlike other hardboards and MDF boards. Only Ampersand builds cradles by hand with premium- grade, 13-ply birch plywood for maximum stability and a clean, finished look from edge to edge. Choose from 3/4", 1 1/2" and 2" deep cradles, offering support and presentation all-in-one. All Ampersand Museum Series panels are eco-friendly, formaldehyde-free, and proudly handcrafted in the USA.
