**AmLactin Daily Nourish Therapeutic Body Lotion for Dry Skin** My estheticians recommended this product due to my very dry skin and persistent clusters of tiny bumps on my elbows and the thigh area just above my knees. Since using AmLactin Daily Nourish, the bumpiness has completely disappeared, and my skin is now soft to the touch and no longer dry. It is a true no-scrub exfoliating moisturizer that actually works. One thing to note: the lotion can cause a slight stinging or tingling sensation when first applied, but in my experience, it goes away within seconds. The fragrance is not the most pleasant, but it is only noticeable during application and has never interfered with my colognes or perfumes. This works amazingly well. There was a noticeable improvement to my skin on day one. Second application left my skin soft and smooth. That said, while it absorbed quickly it did leave a slightly greasy residue that never seemed to go away (especially on my hands). Like other reviewers have stated, the smell is unpleasant and ammonia-like and while it fades it never goes away entirely. I have keratosis pilaris (those annoying, non-painful bumps on the backs of arms and down the sides of legs due to abnormal skin exfoliation). I never had the good fortune of outgrowing it as someone people do. For years I used prescription LacHydrin (12% lactic acid), which was costly even when I bought the generic formulations. This product costs half as much as what I paid even at the lowest generic price, and it works every bit as well as the prescription formulations I used. I'm not a fan of the smell, but to be completely fair, the generic prescription lotion I used years ago smelled the same way-in fact stronger. I'm not a fan of the texture either, but I've definitely used formulations that feel even worse than this product. What I am a fan of is the results I get and the low cost. I bought this lotion because of a TikTok video from a dermatologist who recommended this for aging skin. I'm a senior and have lost weight recently and to my appalled surprise I now have crepey skin on my face that shows when I smile. It's horrifying! I've tried so many products geared to my age and for this particular problem to no avail. Today's skincare culture has us using a dozen products for our face and I haven't had much success with all the recommendations. Now I'm back to simplicity. I use a gentle cleanser and this lotion now. It's a moisturizing exfoliating lotion with 12% lactic acid that is supposed to renew the surface of the skin and even has shown to increase skin thickness with continued use. It is unscented but has a very, very, very slight smell that is almost non-existent and doesn't bother me at all and I am very sensitive to scents. The lotion is of a medium thickness and a little goes a long way. My skin felt instantly moisturized and I could feel a very, very, very slight tingle effect which the dermatologist said would happen because of the lactic acid. Of course extra care needs to be used when going outside and one needs to make sure they wear a sunscreen (but we should be doing that anyway, right?) This moisturizer can be used all over the body and face and will smooth rough skin and increase skin tone. I've only been using it for a few days but I really like how my skin feels. I can't claim yet that it decreased the crepey skin on my face but I feel if anything is going to work, it will be this lotion. Now my skincare routine consists of a gentle cleanser, Amlactin lotion, and Vaseline Petroleum Jelly (IFYKYK ; ) ... show more
