Nice pair of starter skates! The boots were not flimsy as some other brands, and provided adequate ankle support for a beginner. The skates arrived sharpened, even came with small blade guards....an added bonus! My 8 year old daughter loved these skates. As a former competitive figure skater myself, I found these skates to be a good choice for a casual, beginner skater. If your child decides to take weekly lessons and considers competition, you will want to consider a more professional boot/skate.     • Do NOT waste your money!!
Unfortunately, I didnt take my little one skating until after the return window had closed, so I have to eat the cost of these skates. They have NO support, and are cheap junk. Dont waste your time and money. We ended up taking these off after 15 minutes and putting rentals on her, which are fine. I will not take the cheap route next time, and get her decent skates. I bought these for my 7 year old daughter 6 weeks ago. She hates these skates and cries because she can't skate anymore because of them. She's been skating for a year and no longer wants to because of these skates, but she still loves skating. So, now, I have to buy her new skates and I can't even return these. Smh ... show more

    • These are good skates for the price
Update: after skating in these once a week for about 3 months the ankles broke down enough that she had no ankle support whatsoever. We had buy her new skates. These are OK skates for the price. My daughter recently started taking lessons and we didn't want to use the rental skates, so we chose these instead. They are cute, She loves the pink details on them. I feel like the ankle support is not as stiff as it should be. She sometimes has trouble keeping her ankles straight as even tied as tight as possible there is quite a bit of lateral give to these. The rental skates and more expensive ones from the skate shop are stronger and don't have that lateral flex so she keeps her ankles straight. The blades are not stainless, they are nickel plated, so if they are not very carefully wiped completely dry after each use they will rust. They also don't seem to stay sharp for as long as a higher end skate does, and we have had to get them sharpened more frequently. I do feel they fit true to size, my daughter normally wears a 1-2 shoe size and these are a 2 and fit her well with a bit of growing room. ... show more

My daughter loves them. But I had to replace the laces, there were to slippery and it was difficult to tighten the skates.

Havent used them yet but the girl i got them for wears a size 12 shoe size. Got her a 13 and her toes were almost to the edge and since she will be wearing thick socks with them we exchanged them for a 1 which still didnt quite fit. We exchanged once more for a 2 and theyre s little big on her but she will grow into them! ... show more
