I haven’t always loved ATK cookbooks, but I really like his one it really is a best-of-the-best compilation, and I find dozens of recipes for favorite things in this book, with the usual explanations of what and why things work in the particular recipe, plus many suggestions for short cuts and eliminating unnecessary steps that makes many complicated dishes easier and faster to prepare without sacrificing taste or quality. The recipes range very broadly from American standards to South Asia (Goan vindaloo, anyone?), China (dumplings?), Latin America (a unique quick tamale dough and alfajores de maicena) and more. This has become my favorite cookbook now! Filled worth proven tasty recipes. Full color pictures. (I think I gained three pounds just looking at and drooling over the pictures! 😁) I enjoy reading and using the tips and tricks presented throughout. Liked this cookbook from the the first page on!

I’ve only made two recipes from this cookbook so I can’t give it 5 stars yet. My niece really wanted to make the chocolate cookies so we did. They are really pretty and I double the recipe for the shepards pie so I couldn’t bake it in the skillet. Both were good. I would probably cut the espresso powder by half if I made these cookies again. I’m looking forward to trying more recipes. ... show more
