This is a review of the MULTI-USE cheese knife. It's annoying tha tAmazon collects unrelated products on the same product page, so you can't tell which product a review actually refers ot without contortions. Anyway, I've now had this knife for 1.5 years. Designed-for-Amazon items (AmazonCommercial, AmazonBasics) usually get excellent reviews, so I was surprised this got mediocre ones overall; I still bought it because I trust Amazon's judgment on simple products, and I needed a inexpensive cheese knife that could still be shipped to my country (over here, they're very rare, and cost a fortune). I was not disappointed. This is a very good cheese knife. Not quite as good as a Swiss-made one I have, but it probably cost a third as much. It could be slightly sharper, but not much -- several reviews complain about sharpness, and clearly the reviewers do not know what this knife is intended for, and they're not using it correctly. A cheese knife is not supposed to cut by pressing straight down, like a chef knife; it's supposed to cut by using the serrated edge like a light saw, as otherwise the cut piece would stick to the knife. if sawed, it's more likely to drop aside at which point it is picked up by the fishtail-like front edge. Some complained that it didn't cut thin enough slices -- you need a cheese slicer for that, not a cheese knife. Different tool. Others that it didn't slice semi-soft cheese: Of course not, you don't slice semi-soft cheese into thin slices, one cuts it into thick-ish wedges. This knife will do that fine. I saw no signs that the knife is cheaply made, or any bending, and it's gone through numerous dishwasher cycles with no issues. There were complaints the handle is hollow. Sigh. It's supposed to be, otherwise the knife will be balanced too much to the rear, making the cut more difficult to control. ... show more

Don't buy this unless you like to be disappointed. The bottom "blade" is too thick and dull to cut cheese and it is too small to use as a spatula. It is very sturdy and comes packaged like it was the Hope Diamond but it doesn't work. Just something else to make you regret all your bad covid purchases while we have all gotten to lazy to get off the couch, put on a mask and go to the stores, Just get in the shower, wash yourself and your hair, even throw some lotion on because you know that shit has been flaking for days. Do you hair and makeup just like you used to do before covid. Okay, so you don't need to do your lips, they will be behind a mask. Now get your overweight self in your car and drive to Walmart and look at cheese slicers. run your hand over the blade, but just lightly, to see if you can find that one that can actually cut. If you can't find anything there, well you already have your hair done and your make up on and I hope you are wearing something better than sweats or PJ's, head over to the mall and check out your fancy kitchen stores there. Williams Sonoma, Sur La Table whatever, they will probably try to sell you a cheese slicer with a wire and make you feel inferior for wanting something different than they sell but be strong and tell them you want a European style cheese slicer. Yeah, I just made that up but Europe and fancy go together in the minds of minimum wage store employees. So long story short, they just don't make good ones anymore so as your older relatives become infirm and have to move into the nursing home....well steal it before anyone else gets the chance, that is the only way you will ever get a good one. I couldn't believe I had progressed enough to need a cheese slicer, but here I am. This wasn't was I was picturing when I told myself I needed one, but pretty sure they don't make the one my mother used during my childhood anymore Haha. This is the perfect size and it easy to use and grip. And unlike a number of kitchen tools that some people immediately regret once they open the package, I was super pleased with the weight and sturdiness of this one.
