I absolutely love this maxi dress! It is plus-size friendly, super soft, and so comfortable that it feels like I’m wearing socially acceptable pajamas in public — which is honestly the dream. The fit is flattering without feeling clingy, and it has a nice flow to it, which makes it perfect for casual days, errands, vacation, lounging, or pretending you put in way more effort than you actually did. The material feels soft against the skin and is comfortable enough to wear all day. The only thing missing is pockets. I mean, emotionally, I was prepared to carry snacks, lip balm, and my entire personality in this dress, but sadly, no pockets. Even without them, I still love it and would definitely recommend it. I didn't expect much from this tbh but it's actually very flattering on me, and super comfortable. I'm 5'4" and 125lb, slight inverted triangle (broad shoulders, undefined waist, narrow hips). I got a medium and it fits closely but not too snugly: perfect for my tastes, but a small would probably be fine if I wanted it a touch more fitted. The waist is just about right at my natural waistline and combined with the gathering on the top of the skirt, and the drapey flow of the fabric, it offers a slight slimming effect. The waistband is very very stretchy. The skirt is not all that full but there is enough gathering that it's not too slim either. The underarms are cut a teeny bit deep imo, noticeable only when I lift my arms, but it doesn't take away from the aesthetic and will probably be really nice on hot days. The fabric is soft and bouncy with good drape, and doesn't cling in that way that emphasizes lumps and bumps. It does sometimes skim the ground if I'm barefoot or wearing slimline flipflops, so it works better for me if I wear a very slight heel (like...an inch), but that's my height more than anything else, and would probably not be noticeable at all if I had gotten the smaller size. I came back for another color and I'd probably buy more if they had more options. Honestly my biggest complaint about Amazon Essentials clothing is the lack of variety in colors and prints. I think this is the first Amazon Essentials item I have ordered. The dress was on a great sale so I thought I would try it. I love the material -- it is soft and stretchy, so comfortable to wear. I ordered a medium (my usual size is medium or 8/10), and it fits perfectly, but no extra room. If I ordered again, I would size up to a large so I had a little extra room. This does have white quarter inch elastic sewn into the waist seam. This bothers me in dresses when it rubs/touches my stomach. I used a seam ripper and removed the stitches and the elastic in the front of the dress. Then I sewed the front waist seam back. It took about 30 minutes but I like it so much better without the front elastic -- it gives it the looseness that I prefer. I also might hem it but again that is my preference -- it fits me lengthwise just like it is shown in the advertising photos, just above my ankles (I'm 5'7"). I would prefer it a little shorter, about 3" or so. The color is listed as "Red" but it is more a reddish orange, a salmon color as shown in the advertising photos. I really like the color, it looks great with a denim jacket, and I also have a floral sweater that it is a perfect match for. The fabric is lightweight so I think it will be very comfortable for the spring and summer here in the South. I am glad I ordered this dress, even with the little bit of altering I did to make it perfect for me. If it had pockets, it would be a 5 star dress! This style lends itself to pockets because the gathered skirt would conceal them and they would not add bulk at the hips like they would in a straight skirt. ... show more

I think the dress looks better with a belt on it. I am 5’7 & 244 & the XXL fits great but I think I could have fit the XL also as it’s a tad big. It’s comfortable and stretchy. Length is perfect. 😍 The color is a very vibrant red/orange. The dress has a little weight to it and doesn’t feel like a cheap material however its thinner in the sense that it might show flaws like if I wore a thong and it was more form fitting it would show cellulite. However I wear shorts underneath to prevent any of that. I love the flow of the dress. I highly recommend it! ... show more

It’s soooo hard to find a decent dress on here that isn’t a scratchy hot polyester. This one wins! It’s a nice in between to these super long hot dresses and the short short beach ones. It’s very comfortable and nice to wear. The color is accurate and it’s not see through! I’m quite tall. But the length is still nice. I should’ve know … please pass on this dress! Initially, straight out of the bag I knew I should just send it straight back to Amazon for a refund because the material felt cheap! Unfortunately I purchased the dress in January (the dead of winter, I know!) and today, April 14th was the first time it’s been warm enough to wear it! Too bad after just TWO HOURS of wearing to church this morning, I noticed a pulled stress mark mid-waist when I got home; NOT @ the seam but the MATERIAL had a STRESS MARK??? The dress fits perfectly so the stress mark isn’t because it doesn’t fit but rather it’s from the construction of the dress and from being made from very cheap fabric! Too bad my return window closed in Feb, so since this is now April, like I mentioned before, I won’t bother returning this cheap excuse of a dress but instead I’ll donate it to Goodwill or some such organization! In years past I could rely on Amazon for clothes but not anymore, most of the items they carry now are cheap *crap*; NO Thx~Amazon😡 ... show more
