Update raised from 3 stars to 4 because if I'd liked the drawstring this dress would be all as advertised (though still loses a star because of the weird elastic thing see orig review below). Mine (in black) did not shrink that I could tell with machine wash and dry; I removed it from the dryer while still warm and it isn't wrinkled at all. Quality after laundering seems to be all okay with no seams raveling. Quality seems fine though I haven't laundered it yet. The drawstring doesn't operate properly for 2 reasons: there is a piece of elastic alongside (and attached to) the drawstring in the back plus the fabric of the dress and drawstring has too much friction for the drawstring to slide properly. Even when I did take the time (hassle) to work the gathering enough to match my waist (big butt, small waist) there was no way to get it positioned right in the back because the attached elastic would stretch and prevented the drawstring to slide. I could tell that it wouldn't be flattering on me using the drawstring - as some other reviewers have noted. I decided to remove the drawstring altogether to make more of an A-line shift and found that the drawstring and elastic was tacked at the center back. Ok...carefully removed the stitching that tacked it then found that the elastic portion was (I think) sewed into the side seam on one side. Not willing to open up the side seam so I pulled drawstring and elastic out as far as possible to each side and cut it in the middle. I was able to get both ends of the drawstring completely out but there is still some of the elastic inside the casing in the back. I won't have a final verdict until after laundering so will come back here then. ... show more

I bought this dress because it looked so elegant in the photo. It is a very pretty dress. It fits well and is quite comfortable. I gave it 4 stars because I’ve not washed it yet . I am 5'7" and usually wear a 10-12 US dress pant size, but I purchased this in a Large as I wanted a more loose fit. It is a very nice material that is not sheer/see-through at all. Comfy sleeves at a modest length, and the midi skirt length fell at my mid-calf. It is a very comfortable material that is breathable and was perfect on a hot summer day. And it has pockets! They are large enough to fit a cellphone. Highly recommend - although I would probably have gone for a Medium to have a more fitted shape. Kept it anyway, as I really think it will be a nice dress to use for work. ... show more

Cute and flattering, breezy and lightweight (great for warmer weather), but it runs small and SHRINKS. I had ordered my normal size, but it was snug, so I exchanged for the next size up. It fit better, but when I washed it, it shrunk and is now too snug, too. Sigh.

I got the dress in two colors, when I bought them they were around $20 each so it's good for that price - but they aren't great. They run large everywhere except the bust, so you have to choose where you want it to fit best.

I didn’t expect these dresses to work out for me but I love them! Fabric feels good. Heavy enough to hang well but not be hot. Love the pockets and functional buttons. I got these mostly because of the buttons, so I could nurse while wearing them. I’m 5’7” and the L hits mid-calf. I was tempted to size up to XL because sometimes the bust is tight, but the Large is perfect. Hopefully they hold up through the wash! I bough the black, green flowers, white confetti and they are all super cute! White does need a slip but I found one that’s a tiny bit shorter than the last button on the dress. ... show more

However I am going to keep it as it will be loose for the hot weather. Fabric feels great. It looks just like the picture. I am going to wear a stretchy belt over the drawstring waist. I am 5’4”. I actually ordered this dress by mistake. I have to go to a few summer casual dressy events and this is perfect. The fit is nice. I ordered a large but probably could have gotten a medium.
