This was a really good purchase. The shirt is soft, comfortable, and flattering; it even fits according to the size chart. I bought the black watch plaid (dark green & dark blue with some black): the colors are beautiful. The quality of workmanship is surprisingly good for a shirt at this price. The seams are straight and strong. The weave of the plaid is sewn perfectly into alignment with the garment's design. The fabric is fairly lightweight yet cozy, a real plus here on the country's south coast, and will prevent heatstroke inside all the many overheated buildings. I turned my new shirt inside out before laundering. It withstand laundering (cold water, low temp dryer) quite well, and there was no pilling. Anyway, I love my new shirt. This shirt fit true to size after machine washing and drying. I like the yarn dyed, light color, orange and blue plaid, more feminine. It is a sturdy, quality, middle weight flannel, not heavy.

Size: X-Large Color: Dark Green Navy Medium Plaid
I have the navy and green plaid and really do like the color and design. But as others have stated, by no stretch of the imagination could this fabric be considered “flannel”. I don’t even consider it “brushed cotton” as a few have suggested because the texture is so minimal. That said there is a slight difference between the right side of the fabric (what you see when it is worn) and the wrong side of the fabric (what you don’t see). So saying it is “sanded cotton” or brushed cotton is more accurate than not mentioning the texture at all. But this a very subtle texture by what ever name you give it. On the flip side, because it is not flannel, the “light weight” descriptor is misleading too. It is a solid, medium weight cotton, perfect for winter wear in warmer climates (like here in Texas) but probably not what I would pack to visit friends in Wisconsin in February. The shirt seems well made and fit generously. Took away a star though because it seems to ride up across the back and I find myself tugging on the back hem to pull it back down. Not enough of an issue to not wear it though. And could just be me. ... show more

This shirt is very pretty. I don't think my monitor represented the colors very well. The "ivory" is definitely less bright than it appeared. But that's not a deal breaker. It's still a very pretty and versatile color palette. As for fit and size- I'm been losing weight and am mostly an XL in basic tshirts (like from Costco or Eddie Bauer or Lucky, Wal-Mart and Kohl's) but I went with the suggestion of XXL and I'm very glad I did. It's not a relaxed oversized fit. But it also doesn't have the darts at the chest which can sometimes make it an awkward fit for me. I won't be wearing this buttoned anyway and I probably could have done fine with an XL but since it was 100% cotton I erred with the AI suggestion. I also got it to make sure I had room and length in the arms. I didn't know if the arms would be tight. (they're not) I think it depends on your intention on how you will wear it. I'm a flannel over a t-shirt gal over leggings or jeans. Or sometimes a button up collared shirt under a sweater. This shirt could do both. It's very light weight (for a flannel) and it's 100% cotton. I have not washed it yet, but when I do it will be washed on cool and then hung dry to prevent shrinking, sometimes I do low heat and hang up while still damp but dried just enough to get wrinkles out. It's cute and I like it and I will probably get another color. It's just hard to want to buy warm flannel stuff in fall and winter palettes at the end of spring going into summer. ... show more

This is a decent cotton shirt, but I wouldn't really call if flannel. It is very soft, 100 % cotton, which I like. It is much lighter weight than I what I think of as flannel. It does seem to run small. I normally wear an XL, but the only size available to me (at the time) was a 2XL, so I took a chance. It fits well. I wanted it to be roomy enough to layer a t-shirt under it, and am pretty sure I could wear a long sleeve t shirt with it if I wanted. Perhaps because I got a 2XL, the sleeves seem particularly long. I can roll it a full cuff length, and still have enough room to reach as needed. The fabric is kind of thin - perfect for Fall, and may not be as great in the dead of winter. Tag says 100% cotton. It is comfortable against my skin (not scratchy) and I am hoping a couple of washings with fabric softener will soften it up more. ... show more
