So…… my husband and I both wear these…. last purchased these back in 2023 black and white for hubby and white for self) and they don’t make them like they used to. BUT still best vneck shirts on the market for a reasonable price! The softness, smoothness and craftsmanship of the shirts are still great. Still made in Pakistan. And I do recommend them. Here’s the difference, the fabric is a bit thinner. Not by much, but enough for me, as a woman, to return my set. They were perfect in the past. Not see-through at all!! I mean, I wish they would just leave the fabric the same. And as for my husband, he is ok with the difference in fabric, because they are still way better than Hanes he has from ages ago! Lol Will see how they wash, last set was great at withstanding hot water washes. Yes, they have shrunk, but because they were longer than typical Hanes, the shrinkage was well tolerated. And the shirts never got “twisted” lol if you know what I mean! When a shirt no longer can align side seams and lay nice and flat.

Theses new Amazon Essentials are not as good of quality as the older ones. The t shirt on the left is the new shirt right out of the bag. The T shirt on the right is the older T shirt over a year old and washed many times. The old shirt was made in Vietnam and the new shirt made in Pakistan. If you hold the new shirt up, you can see through is. It is a very thin rough cotton. The shirt on the right is opaque and is smooth and had a small amount of shrinkage in washing. The new t shirt that I am wearing now after one day of wear and then washing has shrunk significantly. Where the old shirt maybe lost half a size the new shirt has lost about a size and a half. It is also shorter by about 2inches than the old one when new. So after washing, the new shirt barely covers my waist and is much tighter. Apparently Amazon found a cheaper supplier in Pakistan and went with them. I expect you would have to order a size or 2 over what you would normally order and figure they will last about 3 months or so before being too thin and getting holes. The will make descent dust or work rags.

I wear an undershirt under my dress shirt, tie and full business suit. I live in very hot humid climate I do not like to sweat into my shirts/suits. It is essential I wear an undershirt and it must be thin enough and long enough to fit comfortably under my layers of clothes and stay tucked in throughout the day. These are v necks which are particularly nice as they are less bulky around the neck when wearing a shirt/tie. Can’t beat the price! Very happy.
