They are the unsung heroes of the "Looking Productive While Doing Very Little" lifestyle. The square toe is a bold choice—it says, "I respect the year 2004 and I refuse to let it go." It’s the shoe equivalent of a sensible sedan: it’s not going to win any races, but it’ll get you to the office without the HR department asking questions about your life choices. The twin seam adds just enough detail to suggest you spent more than thirty seconds picking these out. Since they aren't made of the stiff, unyielding leather of a medieval knight’s boot, you can actually wear these for more than twenty minutes without wishing for the sweet release of death. They have that "broken-in" feel right out of the box, mostly because the materials involved haven't met a cow in their entire life cycle. You could buy one high-end Italian loafer, or you could buy twelve pairs of these and have a fresh start every month. In reality, it just means there are two lines on the front. But hey, it’s double the seam for a fraction of the price! They work for weddings, funerals, job interviews at places that still use fax machines, and that one court date you’re not supposed to talk about. They look remarkably like shoes. No animals were harmed (probably because these are made of high-grade "Science"). If you spill a drink on them at the open bar, you won't cry. You'll just wipe them down with a napkin and move on with your life. Cons: * Your "fashion-forward" friends might stage an intervention. They lack the "prestige" of a brand that doesn't also sell bulk toilet paper and HDMI cables. Final Thought: These are the ultimate "I’m an adult today" starter pack. They are reliable, they are shiny, and they cost less than the steak dinner you’ll be eating while wearing them. Are they the finest footwear known to man? No. Are they exactly what you need to stop your mother-in-law from complaining about your sneakers? Absolutely.

First the disappointments... When received, the laces on both shoes were done in a way that makes them look good, but isn't functional. They used one side of the laces to make parallel lines which means that two thirds of the laces were on one side and each shoe had to be relaced to be used. In addition, the heels have no treads on them, just one line through them to provide grip. I ended up slipping on my laminate flooring while trying them out before a day of work. Not enough to fall, but still slid a few inches before getting my footing. When on a surface with some give or it's own texture, this isn't really an issue (like when on concrete with the brushed finish or on most carpet). What I like about these shoes is the all day wear feeling. The first work day I wore them to the office I ended up having them on for 12 hours that day, including time at home. They were comfortable that entire time. The included insole seems thin, but the entire system worked well. The synthetic materials throughout are holding up well even with hitting my desk or the support on my chair during the work day. Time will tell if that remains true through their lifecycle. This style has a longer toe portion than what I usually get, but that didn't cause any issues while walking or in general movement. The price on these was right for a decent dress shoe with good initial comfort.

These are really nice dress shoes at $32, it’s a pretty good deal. I wore them to work today, the photo with them on my feet is what they looked like after 3 miles of walking today. I have a desk job but I am up and about all day, upstairs, down stairs, moving all over the building. These are pretty comfortable and look stylish. I think the deal is an 8 out of 10, the comfort is 8 out of 10, the quality of the material and craftsmanship is 8 out of 10, as there is a nick in the leather and the sewing is not quite right, but neither of these anyone is ever going to see. I think the color and style is really good (10/10) and they did not get a nasty crease after wearing it and moving around all day, 10 out of 10 there. I think if you get 60 good solid days out of these before they start showing real wear.
