We were thrilled to discover this brand offering a wide range of jeans in various styles, sizes, and colors. Among the options, we were particularly delighted to find a size 28 length. However, the abundance of choices made it challenging to decide on the perfect style. We tried two types of jeans, including this stretch boot cut. The material is heavyweight with a slight give, but the stretch is minimal. The stretch primarily resides in the legs, not the hem or waist. For instance, when bending down, these jeans offer more give than a standard pair but not as much as a stretchy, skinny jean. While these jeans are not thin, they are not the thickest we’ve ever purchased. In fact, we found the thickness quite pleasant as it prevents them from becoming too hot. The tapered legs are visually appealing, but the fitted thighs and legs do result in a tighter fit when putting them on. Sizing is crucial, but once my son shimmied them over his backside, the 34 fit him perfectly and was true to size around his waist. The instructions suggest washing the jeans before wear due to potential dye transfer, so we washed them and were pleasantly surprised that the dark black color didn’t fade significantly. However, over time, they may fade slightly and lose their true black hue. Currently, they’re stylish enough to wear without looking like jeans due to their color and fit. There was a slight shrinkage in sizing, but it wasn’t significant. Overall, these jeans are the best we’ve found for my son so far.

I'm 5'11", 180 lbs. These jeans fit great. I may have been able to size one down to 36, but these are close enough as-is. My previous jeans were from The Perfect Jean company and were a similar stretchy denim material, but 2-3X as expensive. Aside from offering a greater variety of styles, I no longer see a reason to spend that kind of money when these Amazon jeans exist. These are just as stretchy and comfortable to wear. The quality seems great so far. I don't think it would be as durable as straight denim, but it feels similar to any other blend like this that I've warn. I don't have any concerns over the quality or the durability. They are currently priced at $28.70, which is a great value. Under $30 for jeans that feel this good is a wonderful price.

I was really excited taking these out of the packaging, because the stone-washed look is exactly perfect. However, I was disappointed by how tight these are. For context, I normally wear Lucky Brand Stretch Straight-Fit jeans of the same size. These Amazon Essentials jeans run REALLY small in comparison, and the "stretch" aspect is a bit tenuous at best. When wearing them, I feel like I'm being constricted. And it's not just the waist - the legs themselves are quite small, with my calves (which aren't even that large) also being in total contact with the jeans. They're just very uncomfortable to wear if you try to use them at the stated size. I would recommend going up one size (or two) for a proper fit if you're going to move forward with them.
