To start, I walk at least four miles a day at my job, so comfort is my top priority. I ordered two pairs — dark tan and black — both in size 13. The size was spot on. The quality was good during the first week. I've had a pair of Amberjack Obsidian (black) for the past year, but I wanted a boot with a zipper. The Amberjacks are on another level in terms of comfort, but they also cost about $200. I wasn't expecting the Amazon boots to be as comfortable as they were. The dark-tan pair was stiff at first and created a pinch point on the top of my right foot while walking, but after a day of walking it improved a lot. I did not have this issue with the black pair. If the Amberjacks are a 10 in comfort and quality (which they are), then the Amazon boots are a strong 7 or 8. I've only had them for a week, but they get better every time I put them on.

I ordered the dark brown boots and the color was generally what I expected. I normally wear a size 8 shoe for extra space and comfort because my feet are somewhat wide, but I ordered a 7.5 for this boot, which turned out to be a good fit for me. However, wearing thermal socks during the cold winter months was a tight fit. The dark brown color matched well with my darker jeans, which is what I normally wore them with. The boots themselves are pretty stiff and it is personally taking me a while to break in. For me, the stiffness is in the ankle area, which makes walking a bit awkward, but manageable. I am hoping that with continued wear, it will loosen up. The quality of the boots is decent. Because of the style and color and how well they pair with jeans, anyone looking at you may not focus too much on the quality of the boots, but upon close inspection, you can tell these boots do not match up to the quality of other brands. However, these are clearly advertised as “Amazon Essentials” and knowing that, you should not expect superior quality material. Overall, they look fine with certain outfits, and they are generally comfortable enough to wear for short periods (e.g., going out with friends, etc.). I would not wear these boots for a prolonged periods of time (e.g., hikes, etc.) as I do not believe they were intended for those uses. It is more of a “fashion” boot in my opinion.

I got these for my husband, but the bottoms have absolutely no grip and caused him to slip a lot, and the shoe itself is very narrow, so I wouldn’t recommend getting these unless you have very narrow feet. We even went up a full size because I was going to add some insoles, but even without the insoles the shoe is too narrow. The zipper works well, and the material is nice but the cap toe must just be a thin plastic so I wouldn’t recommend if you need it for any type of job that requires it. Overall, I think the shoes would be good for someone, but they don’t work for us.

The boots arrived well packaged and looked polished and well-made right out of the box. The faux leather has a smooth finish, and the cap-toe design adds a classic, timeless touch. The overall appearance is versatile enough to wear with both casual and slightly dressier outfits. Wearing them feels surprisingly comfortable thanks to the breathable foam insole, and the lace-up design allows for a snug, adjustable fit. The side zipper makes putting them on and taking them off quick, and the 1.75-inch stacked heel gives a little lift without feeling unstable. The build quality feels solid, with sturdy stitching and a non-slip sole that grips well on different surfaces. They’re a great value for the price and work well for daily use. The only minor drawback is that the faux leather may crease slightly after extended wear, but overall, they’re stylish, comfortable, and reliable.

These Amazon Essential combat boots are closer to dress shoes from just the appearance. When worn and covered by my pants, you wouldn't be able to tell they are boots. I wear a size 9.5M and the 10M I ordered was a perfect fit giving me slightly extra room by the toes. The zipper on the side makes it extremely easy to put on and remove the boots even when the shoelaces are tied. These boots are fairly comfortable and I can certainly walk around in them. The only minor issue is that the top of the boots can be slightly stiff; hopefully it loosens up a bit over time. Given the price and how good they look, I would give it a pass. These boots are great value and look fantastic.
