The Champion Power Equipment 201183 2500-Watt Portable Dual Fuel Inverter Generator with CO Shield® is ideal for camping or tailgating. Weighing in at an ultralight 39 pounds, this model is one of the lightest 2500-watt inverters in the industry. Thanks to Champion’s innovative design, power on the go has never been easier. Champion’s EZ Start Dial makes getting started quick and easy. Power up with the reliable recoil start, plus Cold Start Technology ensures a quick start in cold weather. Included are a covered 120V 20A household duplex outlet (5-20R) plus a 12V regulated automotive-style outlet, and a handy dual port USB adapter you can use to power your phone, laptop, or similar device. This inverter operates at 53 dBA from 23 feet – about the same noise level as a dishwasher. Just add oil (included 10W-30), and operate your Dual-Fuel generator right out of the box on gasoline or propane, and easily switch fuels with the EZ Start dial. When the 1.1-gallon tank of gasoline is full, the 79cc Champion engine produces 2500 starting watts and 1850 running watts and will run for up to 11.5 hours at 25% load. When using a 20-pound propane tank, it produces 2500 starting watts and 1665 running watts and will run for up to 34 hours at 25% load. Connect this Parallel Ready inverter with another Champion 2500-watt inverter for 30 amps of power. The optional parallel kit (sold separately) allows you to integrate two inverters, plus the kit has a standard 30A RV outlet and a 120V 30A locking outlet. So far, so good. I really like that it can run on propane. You can store propane probably forever. I have only run this on propane, and do not plan on running on gasoline. It is a little hard to get started. I follow the instructions and start in the choke position. Then 4 or 5 easy pulls. Then to the propane run position. 4 or 5 really strong pulls. Then back to the choke position and repeat. Eventually it starts. It seems to run a little ragged until a load is put on it, or take it out of eco mode. I changed the plug to the NGK, but did not improve running. I changed the oil to a synthetic oil after the break in period. No change. I may try adjusting the valves. I only plan on running this when we lose grid power, and I need to charge our solar batteries. I live in the PNW, and we do lose power several times a year. Nice to have another backup! ... show more

Ran propane only. Good little unit and I was able to run multiple devices up to about half the capacity without any noticeable up\down rev noise. I also ordered extra parts from Champion directly and those parts came promptly and well packaged. First trip with the Champion went really smooth. I'm using it for the thirstier appliances in our RV trailer - microwave, electric fridge and AC, the rest is handled by our newly installed solar setup. This Champion replaced a dying Predator 2500 which was heavy, dirty barely running and leaking oil by the end. I'm going to try to keep the Champion only on propane so it stays clean and can be stored in the trailer. Assembly was easy, poured the oil it came with, hooked up the propane regulator it came with and it started cold on the second pull. Ran it on variable lighter loads as recommended for a while to "break it in". During the trip everything worked as expected, no drama. Started cold in 2-3 pulls, despite me sporting a nasty case of tennis elbow. Ran smoothly and quietly on propane. Almost hard to believe how light and small it is compared to what I am used to. Lifts with one hand, easy to stash in the truck or trailer, secure and comes with everything needed to get it going. Will report if anything odd develops in future camping trips, but I doubt it, it feels well built and quality. ... show more

I have this same generator without the CO monitor and have been happy with it. I bought this one for my son and nothing but trouble. He wanted to use it mainly on propane and not worry about gas going bad over time. After doing all the prep, adding oil and regulator and such, he tried to crank. After some tries it cranked but only ran a few seconds. This was repeated multiple times. It was then noticed that the CO monitor was lighting up each time. He called the support line (which I thankfully have not had to deal with....yet) and all he was told was to move it somewhere else and try. DA. Like he hadn't done that already. He did let it sit a day and then tried again. Same result. This time when calling support he was told he had to take it to a service center and was given the address of the nearest one. When driving there he was told they did not have a technician at that site (so why did you send him there?) and was given the address for one that did. After another 30 min drive to this site, they did have a technician but they had no appointments for 2 months. As he needed it for the approaching winter, this was not acceptable. The support line for the product was pretty worthless. Thankfully, Amazon stepped up again. I contacted them directly and they have refunded the entire amount. This is the main reason I bought through Amazon rather then a third party. Unfortunately, the generator without the CO monitor is only sold now through a third party and is a much higher price. I can't believe I waited so long for this purchase! This is my first generator purchase and it's been working like a breeze! I'm a female and I didn't want to have anything to do with gasoline. I run a small business food trailer, and I only like to use propane. This Champion does everything that I need and probably more! I hookup my Led lights that are inside and outside my trailer, an 1100 watt food steamer, and a 1000 watt heater I just purchased from Costco! Everything runs perfectly in ECO MODE!
