Easy to assemble although the fittings are cheap and easily warped using hand tools. I was surprised at first to see solid wood and then it all made sense when I saw it was smaller pieces pressed to form the planks. The entire bookshelf feels cheaply slapped together. As far as “sturdiness” goes they feel the need to give you wall straps to anchor to the wall so I’ll just let you answer that one. Lifting it all the wood shifts as well so buyer beware. Value for the money…I mean it was cheaper than if I made it myself and that should have been my first hint at a problem. It has a bunch of labels all over it assuring me there’s just enough formaldehyde to pass inspection. Bashing aside, the finish looks nice, IKEAesk. The cushions are foam wrapped in linen/denim? The two top shelves should fit larger books while the bottom can fit small books/play items. It looks safe enough that I’ll let my kid near it and it’ll serve it’s purpose of me building one myself using it as a guide for what I don’t want to do. ... show more

I was looking for a kids bookshelf made of real wood and this was perfect! Easy to put together and holds a lot of books. Perfect for my seven year olds room. It fits nicely in a corner, slightly on the smaller side but it still serves its purpose.

Sturdy, perfect for my boys room so he can have a little spot of his own. Easy to assemble. Feels like decent quality for the low price. My biggest issue with this is it STINKS. I had to let the box air out before I could assemble it, 2 days later I assembled it and then let it air out for another 3 days before putting it in my child’s room. It’s a sickening smell that is giving me a headache and making me nauseous as I write this next to it. Really hope it goes away. ... show more
