I tried this out as a replacement for my trusty 14" suitcase that I've had for over a decade. It's small but mighty, in fact it fits under many airplane seats and can sometimes fly as a personal item, yet I've been able to make it work even for the occaisonal 2-week trip. For an upcoming trip to Europe though, I was looking to get more of a "true" carry-on sized suitcase that would still abide by stricter int'l size requirements. I was impressed by the overall quality of this suitcase. It has a sleek and thoughtful design that feels more expensive than it is. The inner compartments and built-in laundry bag were a plus. Smooth wheel movement, and a pretty sturdy build overall, especially given the price point. Unfortunately though, because the spinner wheels are so tall, the extra few inches of height didn't actually gain me any additional packing space compared to my 14" case, which has more space-efficient in-line wheels. It was basically the same size as my old one, just with extra air between the bottom of the case and the floor. Given this, I decided to return it and stick with with my old standby for now. I travel for work every other week if not more and have my travel items down to a science. Typically, I take my regular sized Travelpro carry on or my eBags TLS Hybrid spinner but traveling as often as I do, the smaller the better and less is definitely more. So, in search of an even smaller carry on, I ordered the Amazon Basics 18” Spinner and the Travelpro Walkabout 3 19" International Expandable Carry On Spinner to compare (see pics). The Amazon Basics 18” is slightly smaller but fits just as much stuff as the Travelpro 19”, it has smoother zippers, it’s easier to maneuver, it has double wheels for stability, much better internal organization, it’s half the price (Amazon Basics $54.99, Travelpro - $98.99) and all around the Amazon Basics feels better and lighter when filled with the same exact load. I was able to fit enough carefully selected items for a Mon-Fri business trip: work shoes, thin slippers, blow up pillow and pillow case for the sleepless hotel nights when the pillows feel like bricks, quick dry micro fleece travel towel which doubles as a blanket for those nights on uncomfortable hotel couches when you just wish you had a nice blanket while watching TV, water pick, 3 business pants, 3 sleeveless business tops, 1 suit jacket, 1 business lightweight cardigan, underwear for 5 days, pajamas, 2 t-shirts, 1 lightweight sweatpants, jewelry, mirror, portable speaker, lightweight water repellant jacket, and travel wipes. Toiletries did not fit so I’ll carry them in my laptop bag along with a lightweight zip-up jacket, umbrella, snacks, portfolio, documents, chargers, mouse, laptop, receipt pouch, and crossbody purse which fits in the laptop bag. ... show more

There’s a reason this bag has such a high rating. It performs just as well as suitcases that cost two to three times as much. I took it on a trip to Chicago, and it worked perfectly. The softside design is flexible, the 8 spinner wheels make it easy to maneuver, and the TSA lock adds peace of mind. Good compact carry on that works with current known carry on restrictions (including the budget and trans-Atlantic airlines). The finish is pretty good for budget luggage and includes a lined interior, inside straps to hold your possessions in place, 2 smaller interior zipped pockets and a TSA lock. Great little suitcase. Holds a lot more than you’d think. Since some airlines are really cracking down on carry on size, it fits in the Air Canada sizer like a charm. Saw another flyer have to check her bag because it did not fit, and I was secretly chuckling.

This carryon says it will hold up to a 16" laptop. My husband's measures almost 14.5" and would not fit in the front intended pocket, nor would it fit inside the suitcase in the zippered pouch on the front. See photos.
