This bag is pretty awesome and gets the job done. Compared to the other ones out there (Herschel or even Jansport) You actually get a lot for what you pay for. The straps feel pretty secure and strong, the pack itself is more of midsize bag, and the amount of pockets can keep you quite organized. Pockets, pockets, pockets: 1 front pocket for easy access to keys, wallet, and phone 2 side pockets, large enough to fit an 8oz mason jar on either side Main compartment is pretty spacious (see picture) Inside front flap has two small pockets and two pen/pencil pockets Back inside part has a section to keep your ipad or small surface laptop And there's even a small zipper compartment where you can store your wallet or phone (see picture) ... show more

i bought this backpack back in august of 2016, and i've been waiting a while into the school year to review it because i wanted it to be as accurate as possible. for starters, i am a pretty small person (about 5'3) and i'm in college, so i need a backpack with a lot of room but also won't drown me. this is the. best. backpack. ever. it is very light weight, it stores a LOT, the laptop compartment fits my laptop perfectly, the side pockets fit my water bottle and an umbrella, and there are many pockets to keep yourself organized. it is also very durable. i have used this backpack trekking to class in heavy rains without an umbrella and everything inside was still in tact. i also throw my backpack around a lot, i use it as a pillow in between class, and i leave it laying around on the floor all the time. it still looks brand new, and it looks clean. the straps do not hurt my shoulders, despite carrying probably the weight of a small child. and it does not make my back sweat after walking in the heat for long amounts of time (something that i have a problem with in other backpacks). and! when i set it down, it stands upright, and doesnt tip over onto the ground (something that REALLLLLY bothers me). before this, my favorite backpack was an $80 north face backpack. but now, that backpack is trash to me. i recently used it again because i saw it, and after 2 days i decided that this cheap and boring black bag is at least 10000000x better. get this backpack. ... show more

This backpack worked great as my day pack during my trip to Peru. The size is perfect for carrying overnight clothes, books, water bottles, whatever you need to survive plane rides and hostals. I originally ordered the Everest Luggage Basic Backpack Medium, but it felt way to small to hold enough clothes for a day or two. This one was only a few dollars more and holds significantly more. The material is sturdy (like classic JanSport feel) and the navy blue is slick. My only complaint is that the straps will dig into your shoulders if you pack it too heavy. Since the straps are thin and offer no padding, that should be expected. Not a deal breaker, but something you should be aware of. I took this bag to the actual Amazon River, too, so they should put me in a commercial. Oh and my dog casually naps on it, too. Pet friendly ... show more

Received this backpack in the specified amount of time. I am in the Navy so I needed a backpack that is all black in color and this fits the bill. The only part that I needed to alter was an "Amazon Basics" tag on one of the shoulder straps, it was easily removed. Now My backpack is fully in Navy Regulations. Pros: Light weight, but still has the feel of quality construction, like it will hold together for years to come. Solid color, if that is what you are looking for. extra sleeves inside main compartment for separation and small pockets for a phone or keys so you don't have to dig to find them. Cons: A little smaller than I wanted. lacks that second large zippered off area most backpacks have. Great product, Highly encourage others to purchase especially if you are navy looking for a solid backpack that only hits you for $13. ... show more

I bought this bag for a recent trip to avoid the charges by Spirit airlines for carry-on bags. They allow one personal item free and this bag fits the dimensions. I could fit 1 pair of jeans, 3 dresses, 3 blouses, 1 swim suit, a pair of slippers and some cosmetics. The bag was full to the brim and I dont think I could have added anything more. Ok maybe my iPad would have fit as well :) But I'm happy I bought this bag instead of paying Spirit to use my regular carry-on. It's good for daily use to carry a laptop and some essentials to work. The quality is good, but then again it's Amazon Basics - so it's good value for money. Good for college students who don't have a lot of books to carry everyday. ... show more

I actually bought another classic style looking Jansport (Superbreak) backpack after using my old one for about 5 years (steal price too); then, I found out that AmazonBasics actually has a backpack?! It comes wrapped and boxed up—really good, simple presentation. The AmazonBasics bag looks more like a Herschel Supply Co Pop Quiz backpack, but since I have a new Jansport, might as well compare. The dimensions on the Amazon bag feel a bit more stiff and maluable maybe because of all its compartments—there are so many different compartments and zippers for various electronics, pencils, laptops, hell even water bottles. That's just inside the main pocket too; the front pocket has similar dimensions to the Jansport and works well with minor objects. The AmazonBasics bag has pockets on the side!!! I think that is an awesome feature that can be used for water bottles as well(there's one one each side). It's a neat moderate sized backpack and honestly kills Herschel's Pop Quiz and Jansport's Superbreak mainly because of the huge price difference. Probably going to update this as I am not too sure how long lasting this bag is. ... show more
