Description says it's 100% pure Aloe Vera, but it's not. And technically if you look at the "important information" on the amazon page it'll tell you all the ingredients, but I guess I just assumed that 100% Aloe Vera meant 100% Aloe Vera. 🤷 Anyways, after receiving the product, the ingredient list on the back of the bottle is as follows: "Cold-Pressed Aloe Vera, Citric Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Xanthan, Glycerin." I did some light research for anyone who's curious on what all that is. Cold-Pressed Aloe Vera is kinda obvious - Citric Acid is also kinda obvious, but for those who don't know it's basically just the acid found in fruits and stuff. It's used as a natural preservative and it's 100% okay on skin and in hair so long as you're not allergic to it. - Ascorbic Acid is the technical way of saying Vitamin C - Potassium Sorbate is also a preservative and it's been in use for a while now. It's okay on skin and in hair so long as you're not allergic to it. From what I found it's synthesized from sorbic acid and potassium hydroxide. Sorbic acid is nowadays commercially made in a chemical process, but it was originally naturally found in mountain ash tree berries. And potassium hydroxide by itself is corrosive, but it's used in lots of things including food. - Xanthan Gum is used as a thickening agent. It's made by fermenting sucrose or glucose with the bacterium Xanthomonas campestris. Then it's dried and turned into a powder. It's okay on skin and in hair so long as you're not allergic to it - Glycerin is also kinda obvious, but again for those who don't know, it's a sugar alcohol that can be found in plants and animal fats, and it can also be created synthetically. It's especially good in hair and skin products because of its moisture retaining properties. Also, at the time of writing this review Glycerin is not listed under ingredients in the "important information" section of the product page on Amazon. It's also not found naturally in Aloe Vera, so I don't know why it's missing. At least it's on the bottle... I got this to use in my hair as a stay-in moisturizer, and I have no doubt it will work as intended. I'm just a little disappointed it's not 100% pure Aloe Vera.

It’s been 12 days, 5 applications and so far I am very pleased with this product. Was looking for something natural, not harmful, to help with my naturally curly, frizzy, dry hair. This product is lighter and more liquid than expected, but so far is doing what I wanted. Seems to help protect my hair from the flat iron as well. Also have found with using this Aloe Vera before using the flat iron it takes less heat to get the smooth, straighter style I'm looking for without taking more time. Long ago I wore my hair natural – curly and frizzy. A stylist suggested using a clear aloe vera gel to soften, moisturize & control the curls & frizz. All I could find back then was a thick gel. It did work pretty well, but would get gunky after a couple days. It also had some chemicals in it. Now I don't like using those chemical based products as they usually don’t work on my hair, and the damage they can cause. At some point I went straighter, got away from the curls, and stopped using the gel. Still need to control the curls & frizz in humidity, tho. Got to test this out on 2 foggy, humid days last week. What a difference! I did get some curling, but my hair stayed smooth. This is a big improvement over anything else I’ve tried. I’ve also tried putting on a light amount and let the hair air dry and go naturally curly. Found softness to the curls and almost no frizz. Was able to stretch out the curls some rather than have the tight ringlets I usually get. Frizz appeared in my really dry spots. A little extra there helped. I really like that there are no potentially dangerous or harmful ingredients in this product. It's light, doesn't add any weight or stickiness. No odor, no downsides that I've found. Easy to apply and work through my hair, no areas of heavy or light application. An extra plus is my hands are smoother after I put it in my hair, with no sticky residue. Also have found the seller very helpful with questions, offering more information than requested. Giving Green Leaf Naturals five stars as well for quick replies and help with questions or concerns.
