Got this light to illuminate the side of my house and the walkway to the backyard. I wanted a motion detecting security light that also had at least two lights which can be pointed in different directions. This light does fit the bill. The light set comes with a remote control which allows you to select several options to include dusk til dawn, and various illumination periods as well as adjust the brightness. So it gives you a good variety of choices. So the light works relatively well--very bright and motion detection does work but I had to be almost underneath the sensor before it triggered the lights on. Now, the installation was a big mess! I've installed several different versions of security lights and this one took basically all afternoon. I almost gave up but finally figured out a way to "McGiver" it so that I could install it with my current electrical box. The mounting bracket is too short for the "box". Usually, these types of lights come with a bracket that fits the standard (US?) "box". So I either have to change the electrical housing to something else (not sure what might work) or figure out something else with what I have. The old, "normal", mounting bracket goes all the way across the "box" and you can secure it with screws either horizontally, or vertically. The included new bracket is too short and actually fits inside the "box"--no way to really secure it. I had to use that bracket because the long mounting screw which came with the set was specific to that bracket, and did not fit the old bracket. So to avoid a trip to the hardware store, I tried to use what I had. After many tries...What I finally figured out was to wedge it underneath the old bracket, which I could secure to the "box". Now another problem were the screws included with the set. First of all, the screws which were meant to secure the bracket is of a different thread than the old ones (see picture #6). No biggie, since I managed to use the old, almost stripped out, screws. Would be more convenient to have the new screws actually work with the standard "box". Second, the long screw which secures the actual light housing to the bracket was on the short side. Maybe it's long enough if you were able to use the bracket which came with the set, but by having to ad-hoc the bracket set-up, it was very difficult (many tries) to finally push the light housing hard enough to get the screw to finally bite and hold the bracket. A couple other tips. With the wire connection, instead of using wire nuts, this light set comes with a plastic housing which clamps onto the wires. I like it and it keeps the connection very tight but also presented an issue with spacing when wedging it inside the electrical box. The green tabs will flip up, guide the wires inside the slots and then flip the tabs down to lock the wires in place. Also, for the remote, you have to remove a small plastic tab before the signal will work with the light. If you're ready for a fight with the install, this light works relatively well. ... show more

I ordered this motion light to replace a broken motion light on my garage. It was very easy to install - no tools required, as it comes with nifty wire clips already installed on the wires, and a hex wrench to screw the light to the housing. I was able to use the plate from my existing light. I didn't realize it came with a remote, but I quickly found that to be a very useful feature! You can adjust the mode, light brightness and color, how long it stays on, and test it - all from the ground without trying to read the tiny little buttons (while standing on a ladder) found on most of these lights! It works exactly as I expected - the motion sensing is very sensitive and easily detects me walking in front of my garage (also my dog!). The lights are plenty bright enough to light up my driveway. My only reservation is that the housing, and the lights themselves, are plastic, so I wonder how long it will hold up outdoors. But so far (after one week) it is working just fine! ... show more

My husband got this for security purposes to light up a dark area by the side of our house. The installation was easy and straight forward with clear visual instructions. No extra tools are needed as it comes with an Allen wrench. The only thing he didn’t know was if the wire connector was a flip-up latch. It was so tight that he wasn’t sure if he should try it and chance snapping it. It eventually flipped up with some effort, and he was able to connect the white and blue. This lighting unit doesn’t use a ground. His note is to remember to put the foam washer in place before connecting everything. Light works really well and is bright. Motion detection has a few options for setting the sensitivity, timing, brightness & color options, and it comes with a remote control. ... show more
