These are by far the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. My feet are so wide that even in the widest shoes I get blisters on my pinky toes. My foot is always spilling off the edge of the shoe. I did have to get a half size up than what I normally get. These shoes are shaped in such a way that they are not at all tight in any way, but I don't get blisters because they're too loose either. I don't think I'm ever going to get a different shoe. I do wish they had more styles of shoe because I would get every type of shoe they had. I got the original width (wide)

These are my 1st Altra Lone Peak shoes but they will definitely not going to be the last! Friend of mine had a pair and was raving about how great they were so I bought them. I do not use them for running or exercise so cannot comment on that, but ever since I bought them, they have been only thing I have been wearing outside. I have been wearing them for running errands, shopping, brunches; wearing them with leggings, parachute pants, sweatpants, shorts, jeans, even dresses as they are easy to pair with things and so comfortable. I usually wear 7.5 wide however, per friends suggestion, went with regular and I am glad I did. They have very wide box so there is a plenty of room inside and my feet feel just fine even after wearing them some days for 6-8 hours. I love the grip they have and they seem to be very durable - as you can see from the pic I just took, after a month+ of use, they still look brand new.

I love how this shoe, the Lone Peak 6, fits. I have a horrible time finding trail shoes for my narrow heels, wide toes and bunions. I wear these shoes for about 500 miles a year on easier trails. (I wear my Solomon mid hiking shoes for more strenuous or wet hiking.) Be forewarned, these shoes don't offer much ankle or arch support. They are more like a great fitting, great traction sole for your feet! I wear a 3/4 insole with arch support inside them. They also don't hold up real well, but ought to last you a few hundred miles, which I suppose is pretty good!

I broke my ankle in the fall and am an avid hiker. Besides these hiking shoes, I bought several high top hiking boots for greatest stability. I get so many compliments on these shoes. What I love about them is that they are wide enough for my feet and not too long. They are comfortable all day long.. They have great traction and feel good on my feet. I need to wear the high tops when hiking rough terrain but these are perfect for the hikes without scree or or lots of obstaclies on the path. I'm sure for most people they'd be perfect. I prefer these to tennies when walking around the neighborhod since they breathe really well.

FYI: Not appropriate for those of you who have outer pronation, zero support. Where the tow box is fantastic, doesn’t do much good if your foot is thrown outward & u will b using a LOT. Update: Altra shoes w/large toe box R super. Am adding 2 this review b/c I wore the hitop (vs this one) as ONLY shoe 4 over six months. It occurred 2 me after talking @ length w/Altra customer service reps, most humans, maybe more women?, have LOTS of shoes. I surely did in city living. Now out in wilderness, I only use/wear faves, & that’s what these became. So in all fairness, was wearing these for all day use almost as boots (not goretex tho), so if not wearing CONTINUOUSLY, & have only slight outer pronation, pls do try this company! They’ve taught me a lot, extremely positive & really generous w/their time/feedback…they do care, rare nowadays. Absolutely Recommend as primo experience esp since refunds r easy, Give them a try😎, even if not right shoe 4 u, check all shoes & company/out. Pleasantly surprised!

The Altra shoe without all the padding gives a drop heel to keep the toes from being pushed forward. I tried the cushion shoe. Loved the cush, but it pushed the toes forward. So I listed to my structural therapist and got what she recommended. In other sneakers I need a 7. These I need a 6.5. I love the wide toe box and the drop heel. I also love a hook to get the shoe on. Seems all details were considered with this sneaker.

My mom bought me a pair of these & now I’m hooked. I need them in every color. I normally wear a size 7.5/8..these run a little small so a 9 fits great & a 9.5 is perfect for my orthepedic inserts for plantar fasciitis. I’m on my feet for 12 hours at a time & I finally have happy feet. They are a little more than I would normally spend but worth every dang penny!!! Treat yourself to happy feet 👣

Words can't describe how much I love this shoe!! I ordered another pair in a different color. Super roomy toe box. Fits as expected. I typically order a half size up on trail shoes & these worked perfect. Very grippy on the bottom. Only bad part is the grips hold mud if it's soggy & you can't just scrape it out on a rock like a normal shoe.
