I already had a pair I spent about double on so I was happy to get these for this price. They run slightly large. I wear an 8 and need a 7.5 in them. The toe box is wide so my toes aren’t squished. I’m not sure who decides what color they say they are but both pair aren’t what I’d call them. I have them in grey and coral and the grey looks green and now I have them in dark teal and pink and the dark teal is more emerald green. Overall, I love the Altra Torin 5. This review is specific for this particular model only. I've worn this brand (Altra) and style (Torin) shoe for the past 2 years. I'm on my 7th pair. I LOVE them. They are the only kind that doesn't hurt my feet. I have several pairs at a time. I have a pair strictly for inside my home, like slippers. A pair for work. And a pair for 'play'. This is the first time I've ever had trouble. I'm not sure if it is this particular model or a freak/unique bad shoe. Amazon did not offer a return or refund because it was after 30 days; I missed the deadline by 1 week. It took an act of congress to even communicate with Amazon and even still all I got was the automated chat. Ugh! Seller referred me to Amazon. So ... I am left with a faulty shoe. If nothing else falls off it will be fine. Crossing my fingers. Might be better to buy local next time. EDITED TO ADD that I contacted Altra's warranty department and they took good care of me! They sent a brand new pair of shoes. ... show more

The 1st few days the tongue was painful. I knew not to immediately run in them cause of the reviews on the tongue. After 3 days the tongue became softer. I ran in them today with no pain. Torin are my favorite & I was disappointed in the changes. Give them a few days. As always Altra knows what they are doing! ... show more

This is a very comfortable shoe. I traded my 'Escalante' for this model and I loved it. However, the top part bothers me while running. I recommend using it with a high sock and you'll be fine.

They are very comfortable. I especially love the toe space. They are slightly smaller for the size, so I ordered a half size larger & They fit better, especially if you have to put your own orthotics in the shoe.

I am prone to ingrown toenails, so my Dr suggested shoes with a wide toe-box. These are perfect! I'm also a medical assistant full-time so these are my daily shoe for work & exercise.

I have a horrible time getting shoes to fit! Bunions and hammer toes make it hard to get a shoe that doesn’t rub somewhere. These shoes are WONDERFUL! The toe box area is both wide enough and tall enough to make every one of my little piggies happy. Very pleased!

My podiatrist recommended Altra shoes for my Hallux limitus. I don't run but I hope to get back to walking in these shoes. My feet are wide through the toes but not the heel area and these fit well.
