Oh my goodness! I struggle finding shoes to wear. I need shoes that I can put my orthotics in and still have room. I have planters fasciitis. I also need a wider toebox. After my husband had foot surgery to correct a bunion, he was afraid to put his foot into a shoe or sneaker. The physical therapist recommended this shoe and it is perfect. It looks like a normal show but has a wide front for his poor toes. He has 2 pair now and uses them whenever he goes outside.

This was the first pair of Altra's I purchased. As I stated in my review of my Olympus 2s, I really like the near-zero drop feature of many of their sneakers. These Torin 7s do not have as much of a midsole as the Olympus 2s. These helped me resolve the issue I was having with my heel. I loved the style of these sneakers. They have an aggressive stance and with the bold, green-yellow bottoms with the gray ... just really like them. That's what attracted me first. No issues with durability at all. Both my Olympus 2s and these Torin 7s required me to size up to a 9 for the perfect fit. The size 9s are very comfortable and allow for me to spread my toes without feeling cramped. One feature I did NOT like -- and worthy of losing one full Star -- is the mesh tops. They got dirty almost immediately and it got too tedious to try to keep them clean. I have had several pairs of Altra Torin and wear them every day for work, working out, and walk/running. The wide toe box, zero drop, and amount of cushioning works great for me. I was so glad to find these in all white!

I've had foot pain the past 2 years. I originally found the ALTRA Torin 7 at a well known outdoor Recreational Equipment store. The shoe felt comfortable instantly and helped relieve my foot pain. I thought I found the magic cure for my foot pain that not even a podiatrist could help. I wore them daily to work at a desk job, so only walked in them, no running or working out. Within months they developed a hole on top at the toe crease. This happened on both shoes. I thought maybe it was a defective pair, so decided to order another pair on Amazon. To my surprise, the second pair did the exact same thing within a few months of wear as well. My entire life I have never had a shoe develop holes from only walking, and I'm in my mid 40's so I've gone through a lot of shoes in my adult life. These shoes have to be made out of the cheapest fabric ALTRA could find if it wears out just by walking in them. Paid $160 for the first pair and approx. $110 for the second pair. A shoe that costs this much should never wear out after a couple months of walking around in them at a desk job. I can't imagine how quickly they would deteriorate if I had used them to workout and run in. I will never buy this brand shoe again, they are complete trash. ... show more
