I had the provision 5 and basically wore them out. The 6 is much better in several ways. It's roomier in the toe box and generally is a better fit. I also like the added tread on the bottom. They also feel a bit cushier than the previous version. I require a stability running shoe. Prior to discovering these, I ran in Nike Structures. But even with the Structures, I still had to add arch support in my left shoe. I've not had to do that with the Provisions. The addition of the support straps, plus the natural design of the shoe takes care of my stability and support issues. So, I am a happy runner with the Provisions. I do think they take a bit of time to adjust to them, but it isn't dramatic and, in my opinion, definitely worth it.

Only reason not five stars is that I haven't had time to properly evaluate. Zero drop shoes take some getting used to. This shoe walks very well. Seriously thinking of buying another pair. After reading the review of the newest model I found there is very little difference between the new model and the one year old model. At $65 this is a steal. I've been paying anywhere between $120 and $180 for shoes from other companies and I think those shoes were worth it. List price for this shoe when this model first came out was $140. I love the toebox and the feel of this shoe. At $65 I certainly recommend giving it a try.

Great shoe so far, haven’t put many miles on the yet >30 but so far so good. The sizing for some may be off of your regular size. I normally wear a 10, had to return and order 9.5, that’s the same for the lone peaks but not the superior or solstice. The tongue does move slightly but that is better than rubbing the front ankle area.

I absolutely love these shoes, they have held up amazing so far with all the tough work I am doing, and I use them not only as daily shoes, but they also work great for running, lifting and anything excersize in general so thanks for such great shoes!

Shortly after purchasing these shoes I was diagnosed with a severe stress fracture… but not because of these shoes. That was all my own fault. But, since these are my running shoes, I haven’t worn them for a workout in about 10 weeks. Now that I’m running again, I am constantly bothered by the indent in the toes of these shoes. For the life of me, I can’t figure out how this even happened. Is my foot funky? The shoes fit my big feet like normal, but I can feel the crease with my toes. It’s distracting and irritating. Altra… how do I fix your almost perfect shoe?

Im military with back surgery years ago and plantar fasciitis in my left leg. I can say, I'm totally happy with Altra product for the first time I tried them. I also have a wide foot, and I never experienced such a comfort with a natural feel. It just feels like they are designed specially for me. Totally recommend.
