This is one of the best pairs of running / walking shoes I've ever owned. The unique shape of Altra's shoes works really well for my feet as I have wide toes but a narrow heel. With most shoes, I usually end up either getting blisters on my heels or wearing my toes out of the side of the shoes - Altra's shoes fit my feet well, are comfortable, and don't wear out a month in from rubbing my toes on the sides. This is the first time I've ever seen a higher support shoe from Altra, and I'm very glad I found them. I've enjoyed their trail running shoes before, but they are very low support. I've been suffering from plantar fasciitis and have needed more support than the trail running shoes provide, and these were the perfect result. My current pair has already lasted many miles, and I fully expect to buy another pair as soon as they wear out.

This is the BEST walking/running shoe I have ever purchased. Over the years I have used the Saucony Hurricane or Asics Gel Nimbus. They were fine, but I wanted to try something new. The Paradigm 6 offers a perfect combination of support and cushion for my feet. I love them. There is also a little extra room in the toe area that adds to the overall comfort. I have also noticed that my knees do not hurt as much when I wear them which is a plus! I plan to buy more.

When when I first got the shoe it was very tight. I could tell it was very comfortable shoe just too tight so I sized up a half a size and they were perfect! I usually wear Torins but I've had to find a new shoe because the Torin 5 & 6 are so awful! The cushioning in the Paradigm 6 reminds me a little of the cushioning in the Torin 4.5s. I usually wear a 9.5 in women's but I had to size up to a 10 in the Paradigm 6. Sizing up also gave me a little more room in the toe box which was great seeing as how Altra is not making running shoes in their original foot shape anymore only in standard. For the life of me I don't understand why companies must fix what is not broken and end up with an inferior product as a result. The original foot shape should be optional in all of their shoes! It's why a lot of us became dedicated Altra wearers in the first place!!!!!!!!!!

I’m a size 6.5 in my left foot, and 6 on my right. These fit both feet just fine! I think the maximalist outsole is softer than I expected initially, but it’s such a supportive shoe to begin with i find no issues with running in them (so far!) this is my second pair of paradigms and my fourth pair of Altras. The shoe is a little more narrow than the torins and olympus, but is so much more cushier than the torins if you prefer a shoe with a thicker outsole for more support.

The first pair of Altra's that I bought were absolutely wonderful! They were comfortable to wear for an entire 12 hour shift without any issues. I wore them completely out! The second pair I bought just a few months ago...awful! Reason being, the tongue was made of a hard plastic/rubber material that rubbed the front of my ankle raw! I never returned them, hoping I would get used to them, but that was a no go. This pair, however, is even better than the first pair! They are comfortable, the tongue is a regular (soft) tongue, plenty of cushion and instep...I was impressed the first night I wore them to work. I'd recommend this particular pair all day long!

I love Altra's. This style is a little loose fitting. My feet slide around in them. Not a shoe for running. Even walking they are a sloppy fit.

This is the first review I've ever written. I had high hopes for this shoe and bought them despite negative reviews. To start with the positive, this shoe IS super comfortable, keeps my plantar fasciitis from causing pain which is always a plus and has amazing cushion. HOWEVER, I have only had this shoe ONE MONTH and the tread is coming off. In the last month I have worn the shoes to work 2-3 days a week (at a desk job) and maybe put 25 miles on them during our visit to Manhattan 2 wks ago. This is not crazy wear and tear, walking yes, miles and miles of running, absolutely not. Also, I am a size 10 in every shoe I own and this one runs small. Had to exchange for a 10.5 just so my toes wouldn't smash into the end. I really wanted to have this shoe work because I love the wide toe box but for the price I would expect the tread to stay attached for longer than 4 wks.
